Hello everyone!

I now announce my newest big mod in making:

Ballistic Weapons: Mercenaries!

This mod is multifeatured and can be classified as a vast faction mod
with GIGANTIC amounts of content, careful balancing and lots of detail.
The final version of this modification is ment to bring Tournament style
gameplay to Cortex Command besides the enourmous faction portion.
By "Tournament" I mean competive game modes. Deathmatch to be exact.

If this is achieved, then I'll try to see if team based tournament matches
are possible to make. And by team based, I mean Team Deatchmatch and
classic Capture The Flag game modes. I will need alot of assistance on this
since it requires Lua scripting and I only know little of Lua's incredible capabilities.

And thats just the tip of the mountain. You see these items in a static picture
but when you play with them, you'll notice theres much more to it.
Every item has been carefully designed, balanced and made as detailed
as possible while maintaining fluid gameplay and extreme fun.

This topic is for brainstorming on making the parts of the mod better before
I release it. I will post new pictures of the new content as I develop it so you
can evaluate and say what can be improved.
Also I might ask for advice and help when I need it.


This mod is a tribute to the master piece mod for Unreal Tournament named
Ballistic Weapons made by Runestorm
(http://www.runestorm.com). Giant credits and kudos to them for their work.
The detail and gameplay are so good that its almost unreal. They have heavily
inspired me to recreate their amazing mod in a 2d inviroment.

Sick man, it kinda reminds me of the mutants from fallout. I know this mod is going to rock!

Btw for gore effects try radioactive glowing blood or mass amounts of giblets OR you could reinstitute the old school mega blood mode in your mod.

That's definitely some of the best sprites i've seen so far, barring the ones made

Quite a ripoff from the AAL Marine eh? It suits him amazingly well though.
Talking about marines, I just noticed he's too tall for bunker shafts... ouch.

Whee, 4 new guns made. Now its the Sub Machine Guns and the Snipers.

Enough for today though, need to do some other things now...
But please do comment whether the weapons look ok or bad. Also tell the reason if there is something about it, since the "Lol tat gun sucks" comment wont get us anywhere.

I friggin' love Ballistic Weapons. And here i see you making it for CC. Nice.
Two things though, i'm not too keen on the merc's head, it seems a bit... Blocky,
and the weapons SRS900 and M75 look a bit off to me. But then again, it's been
a while since i played BW last time. Can't remember if the SRS900 has a longer
barrel or not, but i initially thought that the M75 was the Skrin plasma rifle >.>
Of course, it IS a very, very small scale to work on, so they couldn't possibly
be any better. Apart from my ramblings, this looks like sum SRS shiz mate!
Can't wait to see the shotguns :0
Oh yeah, one more thing, once Lua permits it, are you planning on making alt. fire modes?

Yes. But not on all weapons and I wont be doing the burst/auto thing either.
Also now that you mentioned Skrith weapons, I wont be making any of them since I want to focus on human made guns. Also besides what already exists in BW, I'm gonna do 2(or more) special weapons that will fit with the CC's engine.

Btw glad to hear you play BW too. : D

Also while trying to make as close replicas as possible, I try to fit them with the CC's theme and balance them how I see it best. Thats why the SRS900 is a tad shorter or it would look bad. Same goes for some other weapons too, had to deform them a little.

I just noticed that picture of the menu is wrong. The menu deformed some of the guns and they look wierd on it, but ingame theyre awesome. I'll get a better picture of the guns(with mags!) later on pasted on the grid bg, but for now this will do.

Apperantly the other thing I had to do failed since I forgot to take it with me.
So now I used my time to make 6 more guns! This time the shotguns and the machineguns! Minigun will have a frikkin large backpack for ammo so you wont have to worry about it running out while you mow down people at 3600 RPM!

I'd give the guns an outline, like the vanilla guns. :) Makes them fit in better.
Personally I'd make some of them a bit smaller as well, but that might not be your style. ;)
