This looks amazing BUT I expect amazingly polished and new raep-tastic weapon effects, not just re-done AAL explosions and the like (not that I expect that from one of DRFF's premier modders).

Don't worry, Numgun can't get away with the wrong effects, he's based them off someone elses weapons so he has to stick with them now. He's also way to determined to be that lazy.

Yeah, your expectation are correct, I am making new animation for some effects and lots of new muzzle flashes and that some are specially designed for a particular weapon. I will use any animation effects that will fit with the mod such as my smoke animations and the jetfire from the marines, but mostly I'm trying to keep this mod really fresh and original with art.

The mod is awesome.Now i understand why data chosed you.Awesome stuff.Mostly awesumed by the merc's jetpack.All is awesome.I will use b21 only for this mod.

I am curious about the release "date" or time frame. I am assuming you only have the sprites done so far, but if you have actually started coding for them please share!

Sprites? Hah.

I have over 80% of all the weapon I planned to make already ingame. They have everything from offsets, sprites and sounds except balancing and tweaking.
Then I have the mercenary ingame too. He lacks sounds, gore and tweaking and some other features though.

What remains is:
-Finish the remaining planned weapons (4+1+2+3 = 10)
-Create backpacks to few specific guns
-Create muzzle flashes for few guns
-Design and create pretty explosions for explosives
-Gore and gibs for the merc
-Glows for effects
-Finish the unfinished fire animation
-Begin extensive perfecting phase to balance out all content
-Create arena style maps for deathmatch mode
-Implement Daman's script for it


And that is just what I still remember. In any case, there is still lots to be done, but I'm trying to finish it as fast as possible.

I have never been looking forward to a mod as much as i am for this one, ever. In the future, when people look back on Build 21, I think this will be the first thing to come to their minds.

Why aren't more people making things like this? the only people I'm seeing around here making big things with these powerful tools are Numgun and tim.

They arent gonna be fragile like the Klones in KS, but they will be detailed.

Infact. They ARE already detailed. I just tested out the new gore effects I made for the merc. They are damn juicy. Heres some more teasers:

The merc has now 4 armor pads around his torso to protect his shoulders, chest and between his legs. x )

I also began on perfecting each weapon and making it balanced and function and feel like it should. The first three guns are nearly done!

As I said, the gore on the merc will be detailed as much as possible while keeping within the limits of lag so it would be playable aswell. The head is the most fun part to shoot at currently. When it gibs, it gibs the eyes, brain, ear, face, jaw, skull, teeth, hair all seperately with tons of blood!
And thats not all, when decapitation takes place, a cool fountain of blood will come out of his body and last for a few seconds.

Then my little experiment on blood trails was more than succesful, it looked awesome! Take a look:

When a merc's limb is blown off, he will leave a bloody trail as he flies away from that epic explosion that just nearly killed him.

The gore is nearly done, all I have to do is to do the gibs for the torso that will make the merc spread out all his innards around the place he got gibbed in.
And I'll try to make this really gory by making all sorts of organs fly out like the liver, heart, bones, kidneys, stomach, lungs ect ect.
