Post Help Requested:How to implement a custom Faction into CC
Hello there! New to the forum! Anyway, back on the topic. I'm looking to create my own Faction, but I don't know how to implement it into CC. Figured I'd hop on here and see if anyone could lend a hand to a newbie.

=What I was going to do=

Figured I'd give it a shot and re-texture the light Coalition soldier as a test to get ahang of everything before I make my own custom sprite.

The file I provided is what I have so far in my folder.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Alright so, what's your doubt in particular? You do seem to have a working mod right there (looked at it rather quick though, so I could be wrong). Remember, if you want it to show up in the meta-game or as a "selectable" faction, the name of the faction has to end with "tech" (Kaldaris tech).

@Asklar

Thank you for welcoming me!

And my questions are-

1.Where do I type tech? Do I rename the main folder? Or?

2. I've also snoop'd about in other peoples mods to see what I have to do to make a workable faction. I've noticed they use LUA files. Do I need one?

No need for Lua, those Lua files are generally for compatibility with weegee's missions.

And in the Index.ini, you have to set ModuleName = Kaldaris Tech
No need to rename the folder.
That should make it work.

Thank you so much! Now I can start on my sprite.

Also~

Is there anything else I'd need? Or are those files in my folder good enough?

Anything else you'd need to make it work? No, it has all the corresponding files to be read by the game and to be used properly as a tech in the metagame.

You have all the basic things needed.

No problem, just ask anytime you have a doubt.
