Post I'm thinking about making steamguides...
Hello. I'm a steam user that around a year ago got into modding Cortex Command; though i've been playing since about two years after the closed beta ended.



I want to make a few steam guides because there tend to be alot of questions about modding on steam; at least one for creating scenes and one for making new textures that work in the game.

Should i? shouldn't I ? Is there anything from the forums I should include?

A guide on what the different object types do (MOSRotating, AEmitter, MOPixel, etc.).

How to use the different objects to achieve different effects (projectile trails, old-school sticky bombs)

Ahh....the .lua isn't my forte but, I can take a crack at it later. So far I've got one guide. If I can keep my momentum I'll have three, maybe four. Tell me if I should change/add anything or if you want to contribute.

Looks pretty good so far. Might be helpful to go through the steps of making a basic complete mod (an actor, a few guns, some grenades, etc.), showing how everything is organized, before getting into the ini tricks.

I'd be glad to make a few quick mods that showcase the fancy ini stuff later, if that'd help you out.

That would be fantastic, yeah! The "fancy .ini stuff" i'm not that good with since I've mostly made scenes.

I'll get to work on something like a sample faction with an actor and some weapons and tools. I also want to get a sample scene going later for a bunker breach and scene tutorial.
