Post WIP release Flying Saucer
WIP of a flying saucer that has a plasma cannon pointing downwards(activated/deactivated with mouse click), and some lua turrets. The saucer is heavily armored, but deploying the cannon will expose its vulnerable core to attack.

Help is very welcome, especially with spriting and improving turret placements.


Credits

Framework based on AaronLee's Bethesda Dropship
Lua taken from Abdul Alhazred's Armed Dropship
Main Gun is made from modified DSTech plasma projectile from DSMK2

Even if it is a WIP, as this is functional in-game it should be posted in Mod Releases.

I haven't been able to test it yet, but it looks pretty good from the screenshots.

You have two references to DSTech.rte; the first one that I found was on the force shell and referrers to null.bmp, the second on the laser magazine, and is also pointing to null.
It's pretty easy to fix that.

While it lags quite a bit more than I expected, that might just be from sheer number of bullets that this can fire.
I very much like the big main gun, but the way it needs to be turned on or off is a little irritating. That said, the way it works feels pretty good. However, it probably should not fire if you are close to the ground, as that causes self destruction.
It dies in a nice big blast, but there was an odd ring of some sliver stuff that came off of it. Also, some emitters stuck around blasting.

It's just my opinion, but I did not really like how many turrets it has. Perhaps two separately buyable crafts, one with and one without the guns on the side, as the main gun is great for attacking a base.

I think that this saucer should be a brain unit, and you should have a normal underling unit with only one (as in one, not the double turret in the original build) turret on each side of the craft to order without the plasma cannon. So the question is, do you risk your brain for the sake of the enemies probably utter destruction, or do you send in underlings with turrets? Also, I call for non-placeholder gun sprites!
