suggest shorthand for when someone does get it working. eg s:("asd") sends "asd" as something you've said for whoever ends up doing IRC. typing out say = "" every time gets ridiculous.

MLC it's because you're sending the irc stuff to zalo's server, not an irc channel, I expect. You'll need to make a secondary connection.

I tried to make a second connection... why it didn't work I don't know.

I was going to do that, shorthand I mean, but I thought s="blah" might not be that self-explanatory...
But hey, say="blah" is shorter than IRC:Say("blah").

it is. s="blah" isn't a function call though, so you might be doing some crazy stuff. were you able to connect to the IRC room? O_o

So I guess I can't use socket.connect twice or something...

Also Geti I'm doing some less efficient stuff instead of function calling for the sake of not having to type )'s at the end of sentences.

Could somebody please host a server for Grimston at alternate timings to the current ones. I'm at GMT and those times just don't work for me. I'd be happy to host it myself, but only if someone tells me what to do. Bedtime now. :neutral:

MLC, you did everything right, except for adding the Joining and Talking functions that Tim had originally included at the bottom of his .lua

You can do that and post that version if you want, but I just got it working (with my new version) so you may want to hold off on that.
