Pretty asteroids... :-P
*drools*

I really like the new screenshots and the asteroids made my jaw drop through the floor to the basement.
The city maps however, the night-time one particularry looks kinda bad. Maybe have a reallife landscape picture of the city or something pulled from deviantart.com.

Then the hell map looks also quite bad. I'd colorize the terrain to be slightly red with low hue(or was it saturation, cant remember) and the background is too eye burning and way too bright like that.
Either change it or make it look more nice. Then take a close look at the background rocks/mountains/hills, there I can see pretty rough terrain, but the actual terrain that you drew is smooth like soap, so make it more rough and rocky.

Then the city maps again, on the night-time city map, the brick terrain is way too bright, if you'd darken it, it would blend much better with the whole idea of the map. Lower the brightness and the contrast with it. Add a slight touch of blue-ishness to it.

And then the day-time city is cool, but something that would make it better is by making the brick terrain more pretty in this way:

And something like that for the night-time map, but darker.

Great work, now I'm really eager to try these! And when the area editor comes out... oh man. *faints*

keep in mind that the white bricks will be filled up with bunker modules, like in my last maps. You won't see too much of these white bricks.

About the backgrounds; any seamless backgrounds you can find that might look nicer, I'd receive them with open arms. :)

True, but a concrete inner terrain will look better with the modules rather than the bricks only.

I'll see about the backgrounds too, I like this pack alot so I'll gladly contribute some bgs I'll find.

Well, you might have a point about the concrete. I've been plowing the internet for textures so much it never really occured to me to just use plain cement colours.

I will try that out.

Edit: Do people like this better?

Make sure not to make them too big, or they'll lag.

Get more RAM and a better processor. And turn post-processing off.

Maps will be 5088x1536, my new standard, except for a few exceptions. That's small enough for me. Waaaaaaaay smaller than the gargantuan maps I used to make.

Let's also hope B21 will handle stuff a bit better so that it runs better for you guys. :)

That new darker brick texture is good, but not like that.

If you make it in the fashion I showed in the example by making an outer layer made out of the original brighter brick texture and then have the darker brick texture enclosed in the white brick borders, it will look fabulous.

Also you can use this new darker brick texture in the nighttime maps. It doesnt look too good with the daytime city maps unless you make a layer of white bricks around them.

I'll keep using the white bricks then. Gladly even, since I like them.
It's easy enough to create a 'concrete' object to fill in any white brick gaps inbetween bunkers.
I won't be able to use the gray ones for the dark maps, since it would require splitting the city-type maps into two .rte's. (There will already be 5 different .rte's. They're conveniently named though, so no messy folders like in past maps.)

If people have anything to add, like objects, better backgrounds etc, please pm me about it. :) Credits will be given, fresh baked cookies will be provided.

The Space and Snow backgrounds are good, personally I am happy about the City type backgrounds as well (but I am open to better examples), but the hell ones could perhaps use replacement like numgun stated earlier and I am lacking 1-2 earth backgrounds, unless I use the vanilla ones.

UniTec is not directly involved in any wars. They just supply the weapons.
No one would have an interest in destroying UniTec, since people would just go to another supplier. So I guess there's no need to have a brawl at the UniTec HQ on Earth. :)

What if someone wanted their super secret manufacturing process? So they attacked them :O

Maps are looking great! I can't wait untill the new ones are out!!

Edit: Like, backgrounds of trees or something?

Probably too complex for CC but it looks ♥♥♥♥ awesome : http://lonelywolf2.deviantart.com/art/I ... 8-95590051

Erm, yes. Ofcourse I thought about that too, but mirrored backgrounds look hideous in-game. Trust me on that one.
