Post Laser Canyon
This is my first map so don't be too harsh. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM PLEASE. NO RUDE OR UNEEDED COMENTS!

This is a war torn area. An old war zone. When this planet was first discovered, long wars raged over who would control certain territories. This map is one of those maps. A very radioactive and experimental orbital laser was fired on this area. The blast was so powerful that it fired right through to the mantel of the planet. The laser was destroyed once it was fired because the blast was too powerful to control. Extreme radioactive residue was left over and only now can the map be mined for it's resources and fought for again.

PICS TIME

The crater from the laser.

The map is pretty much the same size as grasslands and very similar. It plays kinda the same. I just made it to grasp scene making and to see what i could do. Please, only constructive criticism.

A decent first attempt.

I like the touch with the askew hallways.

Next time you might want to try something more enterprising....
or a finer brush in paint for that laser hole.

But you get an A+ for Originality.

That contour took ten thousand hours in MS Paint.

I can just tell.

Apart from the big hole in the center and nicely done modules, I think this looks like a grasslands edit.
I just get sick of the same scenery.

I have a tip.
You see the purple in the brains Bunker module?
Put that in place of the pink in the canyon. It'll look more realistic.
Kinda like how the ypsilon cannon does it.

Eurgh, I think the hole needs to be more detailed. It just looks like you went crazy scribbling the edges, some bits are floating in nothing.

My favorite bit is the skeleton frankly. Have another go but spend a bit more time on it.

Looks like he whipped up the basic map in five minutes, loaded it up on the scene editor, then fired a ypsillion on it, added effects of the walls and done.

could be done in like 30 mins tops.

No he drew the hole himself.
The lines are going the wrong way for him to have used the ypsilon mod to create it.

And frankly that doesn't make any sense anyway.

*cough*

Jesus, I said it LOOKS LIKE he did that, my point being he put very little work into it, and that next time he should do something that someone else could've done in half an hour.

i like the map, it makes me play the game serieus (without mods) because of it's diffeculty (giant hole in my base). nice for a first map, though one thing; try to put the .rte directly in the rar file and not in a seperate map. because people like me have much mods, and that takes like 5 minutes to load, i dont want to load it all over again because i didnt see the mod was in a sepparate map.

I'll download, but I don't like the current thing. I'll probably replace the .bmp with Tea's and then make the edges smoother and with no floating crap.

ok well i did the dark purple thing but when i load up the map the bunker modules have all kinds of red stuff all over the ends. how to i fix this. i'm also working on a new mountainous map and fixing the laser cannon crater. i wanna leave the edges sharp looking so the laser blast looks more devastating.
