But then they're at the bottom of the ocean so they would die almost instantly from the bends wouldn't they?

what about the enemy AI, won't they be affected by drowning or the bends to?

that would ruin part of the fun.

the bends

The Bends only applies if you're coming back up from a dive. If you're going down, it's the crushing pressure of thousands of cubic meters of water pressing in on you from all sides that you should worry about.

@Grif
Spacecraft might not stand a chance in a water environment. Would they be able to withstand crushing pressure from outside, when they're built to keep air in?

True. But, since we're already bringing Lua into this and have a "submarine" dropship, why not make a custom activities for the map and utilize it?
The entire point is moot if the surface of the water is just above the map, and doubly moot if the OP doesn't care. Which he likely doesn't.

For the record, my knowledge of LUA is only just one step above "What's a Looah? It sounds poisonous."

And jesus guys the crabs are just the default vanilla crabs scattered about for atmosphere you're all goin' off about giant psycho mutant crabs that breathe lasers and crawl to the surface each night to feast upon the young of islanders.

also it turns out that activities aren't that hard after all so the next version will have one of those neat thingies too.

hehe people are dumb.
lua is easy enough, its just basically more code-y activities that you can only run from the campaign menu. once you get into it, its pretty fun.

Really like the map. I thought that a huge sea map would have more crab "species" so I created some and integrated them in the .rte

The recolored crabs aren't much to be proud of on my hand, but they're a start.

Lol, the blue ones were ganging up on an ultramarine in their picture.

First major update; found on the first page.

.rtes integrated, with redundant articles cleaned up.
Tweaked special effects to be prettier~
Two new weapons + drill added.
Harpoon gun rebalanced. The new autolauncher fills the role of main assault weapon, with the harpoon filling more of a sniper role.
Minor adjustments to the actual scene.

Perhaps just a heavy trooper? Or maybe 'tis an experiment?

It's a heavy trooper in a hard diving suit, contributed by gtaiiilc. I didn't include it in the main .rte since there's still a couple trifling issues and I haven't tested it against the other content yet, but I figured I'd go ahead and put it out there.
