Brain Wrestling MK2 - Alpha
For those of you who aren't in the know, go here first. THE GOAL: Create a gamemode based on Brain Wrestling that uses the physics engine of CC in the same way that the original did. However, at the same time, give the player control and involve some skill and add a few new elements. FEATURES I'D LIKE TO SEE: Multiple characters with different special attacks and characteristics. Different levels to play on - cage match, multiple platforms over a volcano, space with low gravity? WHAT HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED SO FAR: Version 0.3
One character. Crowd responds to player. Gamemode fully functional. Stamina system working. Version 0.31
Fixed special attack execution. Version 0.34
Fixed invincibility while head smashing. Special charges faster. Winner is properly displayed at end of match. Version 0.4
Added a new level (Volcano). Moved some file locations around. Version 0.41
CONTROLS: Normal CC actor control. The following buttons have special functions: FIRE - Charge head smash. Release to smash. JUMP - Charge a jump. Release to jump. FIRE + JUMP - Charge a body slam. Release FIRE to body slam. CROUCH - If you are on the ground and are not moving, charge up special attack. This consumes stamina! PIE MENU BUTTON - Unleash special attack if charge is full. All of these act on a stamina gauge, which is the one in white that is always visible. You can only charge an attack as high as the stamina gauge. Stamina automatically replenishes while nothing else is being charged. Also, at the beginning of a match: LEFT/RIGHT - Choose a character (there is only one right now) FIRE - Press when ready to fight! HINTS: Use physics to your advantage - if you come running up to someone and execute a head smash at the same time, it will be far more effective. If you charge a body slam and release JUMP but not FIRE, you can also charge a head smash - this gives you more of a tackle and it is far more powerful (although it does consume all your stamina) OTHER NOTES: PICTURES (THESE ARE FROM OLD VERSIONS): This is going to take a lot of tweaking to get it just right, so I figured that an open creation process would be the best way to go. Enjoy! DOWNLOAD

I screwed up on the release version of this, and the special attack couldn't be performed. It can now, so go ahead and redownload.

The AI audience could fight you, a little bit by randomly jetting around. And I'm content with that.
The moves are awesome. The special attack is taking a bit too long to charge, maybe 2.5 bars of stamina.
Using the special attack on mechs and tanks is just hilarious.

Update. After some playtesting, I discovered a bunch of bugs, so those are all patched up. I'll probably give the stadium audience rotten vegetables to throw at you (harmless of course, but still) if you're taking too long.

Re: Brain Wrestling MK2 - Alpha
Do you have any planned charcters/special moves & characteristics already? If not, would you mind us suggesting some?

Speaking of rotten vegetables, one special move should start a riot in the ring or something. All the spectators throwing sticks and stones, to break your opponent's bones, you know.

Or, have them throw in chairs and sticks to let the wrestlers finish the fight, the hard way.

Re: Brain Wrestling MK2 - Alpha
Wow that's amazing. The piledrive made my day and the sprites are really good. I'm gonna have to invite some friends over to play this. It's hella fun, but the gameplay seems a little slow to me- maybe it's just lag. I think that maybe the actors could use some toughening up, seeing as mundane stuff like forward + crouch does massive damage. Also I think that certain moves might make the charge on your special disappear... Was this intentional?
Also, I'm interested in spriting; I don't know anything about quality, though...
I found some hidden moves lol Pelvis-Based Foot-Wrecker: Charge headbutt to max, walk forward, and then while still holding those, crouch. You can then headbutt after. Headbutt of Pelvis Destruction: Similar to the previous one, charge headbutt, walk forwards, and then crouch but before the wrestling is in full crouch, release headbutt. The velocities will add up and be insta kill.
Also fully charged "bodyslam" is amazing.

Re: Brain Wrestling MK2 - Alpha
I think this could end up very funny. You should accept sprites people make as potential characters.
