There is a huge difference between random actors (who I'm pretty sure are all equal in stats now) and 2 separate guns that have totally different stats.
Nyah, at least, for me, the scripts are same for actors. but armor is randomized too by the presence of .LUA files about armor.
still, as ronins are some sort of 'rebels' I don't really think they could have choice on weapons... imagine being a FSLN soldier, will you really be picky about weapons, and will you have choice?

If you want to know what has been removed, try jogging your memory by looking through the sprite files. Oh,... the memories..
A- anyway, go to your desktop icon of Cortex Command and right click. Click on Open File location
