Post Rocket Mk 2 in 3D
Just like cyanicman did in this post, i also got tempted to make a 3d model of one of the devices in Cortex Command.
I personally liked the rockets the most, so i gave it a shot on the Rocket Mk 2.
I modelled it based on the in-game sprite though - not on other artwork or creations.
So when i saw an even color on the sprite of a cylinder shaped rocket, i figured it's a flat surface...

Note that it's still a work-in-progress; i've still got some work left on the lower engine part, not to mention the landing legs and proper texturing.
Why post a W.I.P.? Because i'd rather hear the comments & critics at this stage, rather than when i thought it was 'finished' in my own interpretation, and i might be more tempted to leave it 'as is'.

So anyways, here's my take on it. :)
As i said; comments & critics are welcome!

It isn't bad, per se, but seeing as how i have no credibility in this subject, my opinion means next to nothing. So far, it looks okay, from what i see.

That's pretty cool. You should consider making into a Kerbal Space Program mod, since it's nice and cartoony.

Needs better texturing, but that's a good amount of detail on the model.
I like.

Thanks for the comments so far people! :)

To correct the statements that it needs 'better' texturing; it needs any kind of texturing, considering i haven't started on it yet!
So far I just picked some colors from the images as placeholders, to tell the sections apart and get some basic likeness.
I want to get the modelling properly done first, before moving on to texturing, rigging and animating.

A Kerbal Space Program mod would be cool! I've got that game as well, and i can easily imagine a Kerbal sitting inside one of these.
I can't code for s**t though, so i'll need a hand with filling in the .part files.

To prove i'm still working on it, i've attached another screengrab - I'm blocking out the legs now.

This is amazing. It could be a little less flat, though. Add a panel or two that juts out, but not too much.

That's what i figured too.
Looking at the sprite from the rocket, there are those brass-colored bits with black holes for the gear's axles.
Being brass, or rust, or at least differently colored from the rest of the grey engine/undercarage-part, i figured they'd be worn down from the moving gearparts - hense i placed the gears around them this time.
Although bending the upper joint so far apart like this may be too much..?
