So does anyone think that this game could use an actual mission based campaign?
Personally I think that this game could have a great story line for all of the different techs but it just seems that nothing really ever happened with that idea from like 5 or 6 years ago.

I believe most people would prefer that, I don't remember why it was shelved. I imagine Data considered the return on investment to be too low to be worth it.

Has anyone ever made some sort of community campaign or something like that?
I would gladly attempt my own but my knowledge of Lua is very limited.

There are some high quality modded missions in scene releases, look for topics made by Weegee or TLB (or really any of them in there).
