He was more referring to the fact that you said you didn't read your posts immediately before saying that you did.

Be nice for him to actually get CC done, nice for us too. I wonder at which point it'll be considered finished/get abandoned.

Also lafe you didn't say that at all.

This late in the game I honestly would just be happy with Data crunching out what features of the main campaign he'd like done, nail them to the final build and open source the whole thing.

I can't blame him for starting a new project after 7 years of this.
I can however blame him for not being done with this one or at the least cracking it open for us.

Yeah I doubt he's got any plans to make it open source.

Uhhh..... is the fact that Data runs this game, and we bought it not enough for it to be important if hes already starting a new project?

Yeah Data's totally jumping the shark; he's only been working on CC for seven ♥♥♥♥ years, what the hell's up with starting a new project all of a sudden?

yeah grif, he has no right to do this to us!!1!! how dare he!?!!1

You are presumed to have bought the game because you liked it, not because you expected to like it later.

From my (quite possibly incorrect) knowledge most game projects (made by large companies) only last about six years.

lol if a pro made game took six years to develop, people would riot unless it was totally awesome. inb4 indie games/half-life 2. but seriously, its an inordinate amount of time. cant blame him for abandoning it.

It's not entirely abandonding really, since he said he's going to go and polish up CC before formally starting on the new one.

I haven't listened to these videos yet, so I'm just wondering, he said he's making a new game? :D

Yeah, you know that game concept sketch that Prom has on his site with the dune buggy type thing? That. I would link it if I remembered his website's address.
Data himself hasn't done anything yet, he's hired/directed another programmer to do the engine, who is the person that bt321 mentioned.
