Oh come Metal Chao, don't use that fallacy.
There's not much bannings around the forum at the moment but that might be something we should have more of

I was just trying to point out that his argument was a fallacy in itself, in an amusing manner
Guess that failed huh

The bord has a rule against child porn.
The board doesn't have a rule against new subforums.

Well I could also have said Ham, Choose Your Own Adventure games, Art or Metal Chao Fan Topics and my point would have been the same
It was just an example!

Well, so is pointing out that racism is bad by mentioning the war in Rwanda, but bringing it up is bad taste.

Racism is good.
Discrimination based on race is bad.

Not that hard.
That's what she said.

Despite the fact that it's stickied, it'd be nice if the contest had a subforum or something. Maybe not to that high of a degree, but it'd probably help with the amount of entries if it did get more attention.

Just because something doesn't have a rule or guideline or law preventing it doesn't mean its a bad idea. Plenty of US states dont have anti-texting laws but that doesn't make driving and texting a good idea.

If you all want a new subforum for your mod contests, show interest by trying to manage multiple contests simultaneously.

I think we can agree that changes to the forum structure have always been decidedly reactive. Demonstrate a need and then you can address the need with a solution. No reason to make changes and develop solutions for non-existent problems.

Honestly, though, all a flood of contests will do is force creation of content that may or may not be good--whether you think that's better than no content is up for debate.

Boy, Project Someone-who-is-definitely-not-THOR sure has a really good point here.

One semi-monthly mod contest with about five entries is not enough to populate a worthwhile subforum. There simply aren't enough entrants, or enough contests, for a subforum to be worth it.

The argument could be made that, with a subforum to fill, the contests would grow larger, but I doubt it, frankly.

The only really useful aspect of a mod contest sub forum would be for easier archiving. I mean, a list of all the contests to date would be kinda cool.

yes it would be.

Someone needs to make a new modder's contest, people who haven't been on the forums for more then 3-6 months. Probably might encourage some new guys.

You've already heard my opinion, especially if you are Lizzrd.
But I guess I'll repeat it with different words;

At the moment there is one contest. One contest does not deserve a subforum.
A subforum may provoke more contests, however it also may not.
The possibility of more contests is not enough to deserve a subforum.
Supply should not provoke Demand, rather than make a subforum and hope for contests I think we should wait for more contests before making a subforum.
Once it actually becomes apparent that there are enough contests that a subforum is necessary then making one would be a good idea, that is not the case at the moment.

TLDR; If you really want a subforum for contests, make more contests first instead of promising to make them when the fabled subforum appears.
