 The Shadow Faction [WIP]
After a long while, and countless revisions, I've decided to 'release' my first mod...

Spectre:
“Alright so, the Shadows – as in the group, not the lighting – formed when a man stepped up in the chaos that we live in. The man was a survivor once, living, or as others see it, dying, in the wasteland. Gold wasn’t the only thing that the ground had, so the man, being a blacksmith and a miner, gathered the ore necessary to craft the first prototype of the armour we wear today. Of course, even with armour, we still have to wear masks to prevent inhalation of any dangerous chemicals that linger in the air, it’s not absolutely needed but it helps with our survival.”

Bandit:
“Hey can I go now?“

Spectre:
“…Excuse me for a second”

Bandit:
“Hey what are yo- mmf. mmgh!”

Spectre:
“Alright, where was I... oh right, eventually as the man helps other survivors the group grew and we were able to be actually called an armed faction, but we prefer the term ‘Security Contract Force’ because we get hired sometimes to keep order when what remains as police aren’t there to. Anyways, I think that’s it, we’re here to maintain order where there is non-”

???:
“Spectre, let’s go, we’ve got some damn bandits raiding a nearby civilian village”

Spectre:
“Yea, alright I was done recording anyway."

'The Shadow Faction' is NOT part of Tradestar, any payments you make for our contracts will go directly to us and will be used to aid the civil population. However if you decide to use one of Tradestar's crafts, your payments for the transportation will be given to them.

Crafts
You call it a craft, we call it local transportation
Escape PodTransport

Side Note: There's a left-facing version aswell

Brains
You call it a brain, we call it a possible recruit.
Survivor
A local miner just livin' his life. "A wild bandit appears" well, fudge.

Side note: the idea of the survivors was to have them as hostages gaurded by bandits and we would have to take out the bandits to hopefully get the survivor to join the faction and fight, if not, no matter, we will continue to aid the civil population as the civil population.

Actors
You call it an actor, we don't perform, we fight and these are our soldiers.
ShadowStorm
The leader

The man to get things done in a gas attack

Goes against our rules, but gets the job done.

Later I plan to have bandits, more survivors, generic versions of our soldier, and maybe more important ones.

Weapons
Primary
Lightning - Rifle
Long range semi-automatic rifle.

Hail Storm - SMG
Fill em with bullets before they even get a chance to fire.

Wrath - Shotgun
Storm into the building and watch people cower.

Striker - ???
Fully adaptable gun with 2 modes and 1 attachment.

Secondary
Fall - Revolvor
Punch through armor.

Hope - Semi-auto pistol
Keep fighting to your last breath.

Grenades
Shrapnel Grenade
Small sharp pieces of metal sticking out of your enemies!

Injector - Healing
Get back to the fight after you've sealed up your wounds

Hire Mercenaries - Ally/Enemy Teleporter
Teleport in troops that will win your battle or lose it.

Side Note: The mercenary is currently the Renegade, this will change.

With three ways to play! you can have only presets, only base actors, or base actors and presets! (You can change it by commenting out 'Actors.ini')

The sprites looks alright but the mod just crashes at the loading;

woaah, how did you manage that item equip lua script? does the script check each actors inventory individually and then tag them with a fitting sprite attachment or something? thats pretty bad ass.

Azukki's Visible Inventory Mod (I forgot to put your name in the credits, I'm so sorry :oops:)
viewtopic.php?f=61&t=21178

The mod works in 2 parts, one is that your actor needs to have the holster/sling attached to his leg/torso (The holster and sling can be found in the holster.ini.
Then you make the sprites of the weapon on your back or in the holster and you put the specified item into the .lua.

Example: Item 2 in the Sling.lua is the striker full-auto, this is connected to GunBack001.bmp image you created.

It's pretty simple and it just makes your guy look badass.

Visible inventory! I was scared off by the large --DO NOT USE ON NEW BUILDS-- message and the demo didn't work so I wasn't sure how to integrate it into my mod.

Im trying yours out right now, decent sprites.
You could try adding a few more angles, lines and outlines (like on some of your weapons) to your sprites to give them a more textured look and pop out more from the blue skies.

Yea.. about that.. as an artist.. I was trained to stay away from hard edges, because "THEY DO NOT EXIST!" The reason you see (if you see) a black outline, is because it was my original outline before I started coloring it. But I see what you are saying, and if more people agree then I will go against the rules.

Oh lol, it was a small suggestion. All artists have different styles/tastes, evident in the differences between pencil sketchers and charcoal artists.

Your style of spriting makes everything sink in a bit more than those with some outlines (like vanilla stuff). Not saying its a bad thing!

Cool stuff in your mod btw, I haven't tried out everything but the playstyle is interesting.

Thanks for the suggestion btw, and like I said if other people feel the same about it, I will change it.

EDIT: and to all downloaders, I want to know if my weapons are overpowered because I have a slower computer and sometimes I feel the enemy just isn't dying fast enough.

Overall, I would say your weapons are at a balanced and acceptable level, the assault rifle does chew through the enemies a little but overall, your weapons have a realistic feel without being overpowered. Keep up the good work.

The Mod is really nice, i really like the Renegade most, because how he looks like, but, why do Shade and uhmm... Spade (?) cost 100gz while the Renegade has the same Stats but only 50gz?
