I don't feel like taking apart the whole thing right now.
Well then I don't feel like taking the time to help you right now.

We can't help you without proper information. You aren't giving us any. I'm sure I'm not the only person who is going to give up on helping you.

/thread.

Original Equipment Manufacturer. The guys who slapped your equipment together in the first place, like Dell, Gateway, Alienware, etc.

...Dell.

I took out my heatsink, graphics card, and a fan to get those.

Ok, I ran Everest. This is what I got for my motherboard:
CPU 775 LGA socket, Bus type Intel GTL+, Bus width 64-bit, bandwidth is 6400 MB/s, Chipset Bus type is Intel Direct Media Interface, North Bridge: Intel Broadwater G965, South Bridge: Intel 82801HB ICH8DH, memory is 4 64-bit slots, 1 PCI Express 16x, 2 smaller PCI slots, and a very small PCI slot.

Is that enough info?

Uhhh not exactly. I want to know why I can't find my motherboard online and why it looks nothing like other ones.

Because you have an ass-backwards mobo that was apparently assembled by a braindead chimp?

I worked at Intel once, assembling the mobos.

Basically yeah. So what can I do with it? I need a new graphics card, and for that I need a new power source, and for that I need a newer bigger case, and the layout doesn't look like it'd work out. It's a regular sized ATX, except like... backwards.

Seen anything like this before?

So get a new case. They're like $30.

All the cases look the same... None of them would properly fit my motherboard.

It appears to be a normal ATX case. Its configuration of the bridges, CPU socket, and various electrical parts seems odd, but it is no different than a normal ATX spec motherboard. It is just rotated 180 degrees in roll. Your case opens to the right. Most cases open to the left. It matters not.

You have a PCI-e x16 slot, so you're good to go on an up-to-date video card. You have SATA slots for new hard drives. You have a Socket 775 slot which is perfect for a current-spec CPU.

Right... So... Would it fit into this case?

I might just end up getting this motherboard now that I think about it... I know it'll work and it's better than what I have.

Would a PCI-e 2.0 x16 graphics card work in a PCI-e x16?

You don't need to replace the motherboard. It's future proof for at least the next two years.

Your motherboard should fit into that case fine. As long as it meets the ATX standard, you are fine. The only thing you need to be concerned about with a Mid Tower is whether or not whatever graphics card you get will fit. If you buy one that a huge, honkey fan, its not likely to fit (this means anything in or after the 8-series).

ANd yes, PCI-e 2.0 is backcompat with PCI-e 1.1. And 3.0 will be with all of the others.

So even though it's ass-backwards and and all that, it should still work out?
