CVC helmets have almost always throat mikes, so wind, engine noise, echoes and other noises don't bother. They give very clear and crisp sound, but it sounds very bland and strange. The headphones don't have to be good. It is enough that they provide a good and clear response on the frequencies human voice uses (about 300 Hz to 3400 Hz). That's a pretty small part of the whole spectrum. How the highs and lows of the musical sound spectrum sound simply don't matter when designing cvc helmets. To make matters worse, they are always of closed design, which is inherently hard to make sound good (which is why almost all good headphones are of open design).
So for listening to music, I prefer my Grado SR60's
