I'm working on some animations for an I-Phone game my friends and I are planning on making and hopefully selling for a small profit. I've got the base sprites down fairly well, but currently I'm stuck on some of the attack animations. Would it be okay if I posted some of the sprites here and maybe get a few pointers as to what I can do?

Alright, sure. Here they are, although enlarged. I've got the animations for the first character pretty much settled. The second character is supposed to carry a rifle and a pistol, while the third character is supposed to have some type of high-tech japanese sword. Thing is, not sure how to pull this off. Anyone have any suggestions?

Darn it all, I never catch those perspective errors. Thanks for spotting it.

Boba_Fett, i'm probably not the most qualified person to say anything, but i'll offer what little insight i might potentially have. - Clear signs of mirroring here and there, though considering the purpose, that's not too important. Adding a smidge of asymmetry might help a bit. - Some places appear pillow shaded, likely due to the top-down lighting. Specifically, the girls hair and the top dudes cloak on the side views, and the big samurai dudes chest plate. The front view of the heads also displays this slightly, but not significantly. - There's a few instances of banding (i.e. "hugging" the outline with the shading). Hard to avoid at that scale, though. - You're using quite a few colours for shading. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it might just confuse you. I personally go by the rule that says "if you have to zoom in to see it, it's not necessary", but that's a subjective matter. Looks nice otherwise, good job. c: (also feel free to correct me you pro pixel artists i know that hang around here)
Meanwhile, here's some things i made fairly recently. Spoiler because spatial issues/white backgrounds of burning.
- Tried going for an angular design for this axe. It definitely is angular.
- the olfactorian can smell all the butts within a 2000 yard radius and this is why he is grumpy
- Random gems because boredom.
- Figured that i'd try drawing the full body of something, for once. It's a dinosaur because dinosaurs are awesome. Kind of half-assed the background, but it's better than nothing (i think).
- GREAT FLAMING ASSTEROID. 3 colours and 1 hour of work. Yes, i got lazy with the tree, but i had told myself that i had to finish it in one hour sharp. The assteroid is pillow shaded like that because it's emitting light via atmospheric entry.
- Felt like drawing a dragonfaec. So i did.

@ boba_fet: Try to pull what off? If you want to animate, just draw the frames one by one. I'm confused on what you're asking.
Also I like how you're Boba Fet but your avatar is Vile from Megaman X. :3

Shook, you should work on your color selection, other than that not really a lot of crits.
What are you talking about shook chooses the best colours.

I'm just having trouble drawing some frames. Arms are excruciatingly difficult for me to sprite for some odd reason, and I'm afraid that the characters will look too stiff when swinging a sword or firing a weapon.
Also, yeah, I did that on purpose. haha

Re: Art Dump
When firing a gun, the arms should be fairly stiff, because that's how guns should be held. One or two handed firing? With bends, since you're at such a small scale, you can just make a very stiff boxy square arm, then remove a pixel at each corner and shade/outline appropriately. This is just for 90 degree angles tho.
It all comes down to how you want to pose your dudes. Without more info I'm not sure I can help you much more.
