Post N+ and other related N things
So, I could have sworn that there was an N/N+ topic around here, but since the last "incident", I think it's long gone.

So, I'm sure that many of you have heard of the brilliant little Indie jewel called N. While many people have experienced this brilliant game through sketchy means (I'm talkin' to YOU Newgrounds!), many have not discovered the true brilliance of the full game. Enough ranting:

N is a game where you are a Ninja. You have the sole goal to survive, going from room to room. It's a 2D "sidescroller" (Up-Down-Left-Right-scroller is more descriptive) with many physics elements. Lemme put it this way... when you die, and trust me, that's easy to come by, you will see some of the most hiliarous ragdoll flailing to date (NOTE: deaths in N may rival epic pwnz in CC).

N+ is the awesome version of N. It is currently released for the XBLA, for the low, low price of 10 bucks (800 MS Points). It is also slated for release on the DS and PSP come March. HOWEVER: before you go out and buy it, note that they do have a FREE PC, Mac, and Linux version on their website. So why spend the 10 buckaroonees, you might ask? You get some of the best online multiplayer for any Live Arcade game that I have seen in a long time. And it has completely different levels than that of the free N. And HD graphics (although they still have the same visual style).

SooOOooOOoo: You can check out the free, XBLA, DS and PSP version all on the website located here:

And now we discuss...

I played this game years ago, it was pretty awesome.
It also lead me to sing a song about being hunted like a duck while missiles chased me.

I'm thinking of buying N+. I tried the demo, and the graphics are much improved, I believe there are some new enemies, and it has four multiplayer modes (Co-op Campaign, Co-op, Vs., and Race). I also like the analog stick controls over the keyboard.

The multiplayer in the XBLA version is amazing, but I don't really want to pay 10 bucks for a game that I'd only be paying for the multiplayer, since I can play all the single player and stuff for free on my PC.

I bought N+ the day after it came out. Definitely worth the buy. The level editor is 10x more intuitive and multiplayer, while laggy, is really fun. The levels are more forgiving (less of those damn chaser drones) and there are some nice new enemies and door types (about 3).

I like to use my xbox controller to play the pc version using xpadder. Sure you can use joy2key, but xpadder also lets me use my controller as a mouse :D
