 Re: Art Dump
Remember you just have to look at reality to see how much things should shine, be bumpy, etc, if that's what you're unsure about. Might be good to start with some smaller objects, like a gate rather than a house, or some piece of furniture, and really focus on nailing the shapes and textures on that as good as you can, to get a sense of what kind of work is needed to make it look good without going straight for something as daunting as an entire building.

Magic spears and staves and stuff. Holy ♥♥♥♥ I last worked on these last summer. Neat. Now I just need the water one, and the set can be finished.

Stab stab slice. Protip kids, save your work frequently. Or if not frequently, save your work at all. I relearned this again yesterday.

 Re: Art Dump
Decided I might take a picture of a few of my instruments. I have a bunch more, but none that I've modified as much (or that I've built, as is the case with the horn guitar)

 Re: Art Dump
The hornetaur? Gephonium? I call it the horn of the moon because there's a place by my house called that, and I used to work at a place of the same name.
It's weird. Up at the top of the neck, especially if you have a guitar pick, it sounds a lot like a banjo. As you start to move down the neck, especially if you finger pick, the sharpness of the tones fade out and it sounds a lot more like a horn. On it's own it's slightly quieter than a regular acoustic, but I've found that if you place a chair next to the horn in the right direction it amplifies it a significant amount.
I dunno, I had an old baritone horn and a guitar neck and wondered if it'd work. Google didn't give me any info on anything similar. It was a quick and dirty project but it turned out really good. The only thing I'd really change in a future iteration would be to create a better soundbox and to find a better place for the horn so that it's not only longer, but not completely in your way. ATM you can't really play anything between the 9th and 12th frets, and anything above the 12th you need to slide your hand into that spot. Annoying as ♥♥♥♥.

Can you make a video of it? I want to hear it. It looks so weird.
