Post GPU/PCI Compatibility Question
I've been seeking to replace my severely outdated Geforce 7300 LE with a cheaper, more current solution, namely the Geforce 8400 GS.

But, I'm not sure if my current bus type is compatible with the 8400's bus type of PCIe 2.0.

Would someone please enlighten me on the matter? Thanks in advance.

Will fit.

Although I recommend getting something better then the 8400. There are tons of other cards out there, which are both newer and cheaper. Pretty sure you could get a low budget ATI 5000 series for less then 60 dollars.

Ah, thanks. I appreciate your suggestion, but I feel comfortable sticking with a familiar manufacturer. But, maybe I should chose from the Geforce 9 family? I suppose I could extend my budget to purchase something similar to the 9500 GT.

Thanks whitty, but no thanks: I already ordered an 8400 GS, and I don't need that kind of power for my needs. Mods, feel free to lock this thread, and thanks for the answer.

I thought PCIe was pretty standardized. Most cards should support this.
