Odd.
You appear to be talking about computer mice, but you posted a picture of a goddamn spaceship.

Most people who write novels manage with 39-45 (depending on whether they need the numbers 3-8)

The insane aunt got me a fairly large stone foot, along with a few old statuettes from Notre Dame. I also ended up getting some books and a new headset along with the new Resident Evil game and Halo ODST.

A part of my laptop broke for for whatever reason. The right lid joint to be exact. Now it's making odd sounds, and it won't close properly.

So pluses and minuses.

I got a lego VW van, quite pleased. 18 years old and proud to have this thing!

Also, miggles, you got a gas blowback, good boy.

Weird Christmas.

My mom's been talking about the ring her boyfriend got her since thanksgiving. When I first heard this, I put two and two together and figured it was an engagement ring or something. She kept talking about it though and somehow never once actually said it was an engagement ring while I was in earshot. That sort of seems important, definitely a detail you'd bring up while on the subject, so I started figuring it was just some ring.

And then I heard that the black socks I got for Christmas will be great to wear to the wedding.

This is a frustrating sort of miscommunication.

Is that OK with you, though? Or was it just the lack of explanation that caught you by surprise?

It's just the miscommunication and being the last to know when I should have been one of the first, I think, that has me bothered.
Mostly, at least. There may be some small childish part of me that just doesn't want the change, but there's no real reason for that. There's nothing wrong with the guy, and since I don't and probably won't again live with Mom, it won't affect me significantly enough that I'd be right to meddle with their business even if I hated him.

Also I learned from my sister that it was through Facebook that Mom let everyone else know. You could say that makes it my fault for not using Facebook to see that, but I'd say telling your children that they'll be having a step father shouldn't be through them happening to notice a change in a publicly displayed status anyways.
