So, uhh... My computer's hard drive went beep boop and my computer no longer co-operates with me. There is a possibility that I just lost everything from CC files to other pixel art and personal stuff. I feel surprisingly calm about it, though. I'll probably be sending my computer to checkout and see if I lost anything (or everything). I'm planning on buying a new computer in parts specifically for gaming. I myself know nothing about assembling computers, but I know a few people who have given me help with choosing top-quality parts. ITT: Stories about losing computers & buying (and assembling) new ones. Also, is it possible to get MSPaint for Windows 7? |

My old HD4870 decided to stop working a few weeks before christmas. Now I've got a used HD6770, which I'm gonna stick with until summerjob and monies and more thorough upgrading of computer happens. Once I managed to melt a part off a graphics card. I think it was either some really old nVidia card, or an ATI Radeon x800 or something like that. |

A little while ago when I was putting a new terrabyte hard drive my old master just decide that was that and my computer stopped reading off it All my files were intact but I had to swap the drives around, install Windows 7 on the new drive and then you know eventually I managed to transfer all my files back That's about the worst thing that's happened to me Also XP Paint for Win 7, found it quite easily by Google search but really once you get used to it Win 7 paint is better |

I roasted a GeForce 6200 while trying to play Fallout 3 a few years back. Nowadays, I have a HD4830 that's never let me down. I also killed a terabyte hard drive from Western Digital. A Caviar something, can't remember now. |

I built my first PC a week ago and almost fried it from a rouge stand-off screw short-circuiting the motherboard. I'd taken it apart and tested various components many times before realising. Luckily it survived without needing any new parts. |

I actually need help on this one. My computer is pretty old, and we bought a new video card for it, but after a few days I think it fried, it just didn't work, so I plugged the monitor onto the motherboard and now I'm using it like that. Bought some other video cards, same thing. My brother said it's because the other parts are too old to handle the video card, so I need another motherboard, processor, memory, etc. Is he correct? |

One time after a forced restart one of my harddrives decided it didn't feel like working anymore. Not TOO worrying considering I've got RAID 1, but took a while of beating the RAID manager utility to get it to work again. |

I was in the process of moving almost every sprite I've ever made of've the flash drive they were on when I found a 28 GB file of pure gibberish on the drive. The flash drive is only 16 GBs, so I got very confused and tride to delete this impossible file, then windows explorer froze, so I ended the process. Windows died and I had to get it reinstalled, and the flash drive partition is currently completely inaccessible, so all my sprites are on a flash drive that I may or may not ever be able to acces again. Also this happened two days before Christmass. Someone up there hates me. ._. |

Spilled about half a pint of water on my laptop, Twice. Keyboard went batshit insane, replaced it. But now: every so often it randomly decides that anything that produces audio is going to stop working until I restart. So yeah, PERFECT WORKING ORDER. |

Quick question. My harddrive C: has 500GB of space, which is now practically full. I have a second harddrive, D:, with 1.5TB of free space, but it's got a few important looking Windows files in it. Can I use D: for anything or will it kill my PC again? |

Couple of possible solutions here. 1. Figure out how the hell you occupied a 500GB hard drive entirely. 2. Use the free space on the 1.5TB hard drive anyways as due to the way computers themselves work it is logically impossible that you could harm anything by doing so anyways. |

Lots of games and stuff. Lots. My whole life computers have seemed to conciously persecute me, but I'll chance using the other drive. If Im never seen on these forums again, my PC called a hitman on me. |
