Is it recommended to pay for pre-assembling a computer if it's your first time to buying one in parts, and you don't know that much about parts in general?

Gotta start somewhere.
Just read a guide or two online, and if you have one keep a friend who knows what they're doing nearby.
Also take every anti-static precaution known to man.

The motherboard handbook will tell you where everything goes, and as Torrent said, read a few guides online or look up some videos.

EDIT: Oh, and, it may help beforehand to take a look inside some other computers first. Play around with the components and see how everything fits.

I'm not sure... I DID lose all of my spritework and unreleased code with my last computer... :-(

I might try to revive my old hard drive at some point, but for now, I'll call it off.
