I remember one of Jim Noir's songs being featured in LittleBigPlanet. Never actually got to listening any other songs than My Patch.

Just started listening to the newest album. 'S alright.

Isn't his stuff done entirely by himself?

Yeah, he writes all his music and plays all the instruments.

I've listened to the album with 'my patch' on it. I like the way he records/masters his stuff, sounds old.

Here's an album of chip-tune electro house stuff, I really like it.

That is pretty sweet! Still listening to all of it but I wouldn't be averse to buying that album. Thanks for posting it

I find that chiptunes are so big of a trend that it's hard to find talented artists in the huge storm of chiptunes, na mean.
However, I just discovered bitpop, and it seems like a much harder genre for amateurs to pull off, doesn't sound too bad either.
Of course I'm also a fan of 16-bit music, which is generally composed by professionals.

Throaty female singer? Check.
Pretentious sounding remix label? Check.
Trendy retro synths? Check.
Instagram'd pic of attractive female? Check.
Name of music aggregate emblazoned over instagram pic? Check.

And now Contrary descends into bliss.

edit:

Maybe this is more indie acceptable?

Yeah, I guess due to the (relatively) simple technology it's easy to get started with, but harder to make something that sounds good. I find it hard to look for good chiptunes anyways though. Since 8bc.org went down indefinitely and chipmusic.org kind of sucks for casual browsing I mostly just find out about stuff randomly (related on bandcamp, soundcloud, yt or whatever). If you know any other places or such, I'd be interested.

i use rateyourmusic.com to rate/catalog/tag my music, and to find new music from their vast database. They have an auto-recommendation system, and you can view all releases in a certain genre. No downloads to anything, but they direct to Amazon. No worries, since mostly everything on RYM can be found on What.cd or Soulseek.

Oh, man. Caravan Palace actually is coming to my city. I guess I know what I'm doing that night.
