Yeah, but you often lose the exact sort of emotion in their voice when it gets carried over. American/English VAs have a much different feel than Japanese ones.

You can watch a multitide of animes (Legally!) at http://www.crunchyroll.com/videos/anime. Not being a premium member means that you're pretty much stuck with standard definition, but still, being free and all, it's really an excellent service.

Or you could download anime from sites without having notoriously terrible quality from streams

Man, that sure is a useful link you provided there, Sothe.
Oh wait.

It wasn't bad, but it sure as hell doesn't feel like evangelion. More like TTGL but less uplifting.

"Streaming anime is terrible, you should torrent it instead."
How useful, especially to anyone just trying to get into watching anime.

That said, http://www.animefushigi.com/ is pretty good. Few ads, nice site, pretty good about having current stuff. Videos go down after a while though, so not great for older stuff.
If that happens, try http://www.anime44.com/ . It's a hideous site and there's more advertisement than website, but it has a lot of series', and the videos are pretty reliable it seems.

Also, EVERYONE should watch Little Witch Academia. Short 26 minute OVA about a little witch. Good animation and amusing for all ages.

Like I said, Crunchyroll offers the option to watch anime both legally and at a reasonable quality for free. In fact, I would claim that the standard quality is far superior to the artifacted messes that most other anime sites provide.

I suppose it comes down to a matter of principle deciding whether or not to take advantage of such a service, especially considering the numerous other cheap alternatives out there.

Crunchyroll is a week behind, iirc, is the problem, and various other sites DO have decent quality. Not phenominal, but better than "artifacted messes".

Did you just insinuate that people who download anime don't watch it? Yeah when I pirate video games, I don't play them either. And I use Soulseek for the sole purpose of having music in my queue.
Also Evangelion 1.0, 2.0, etc is said to be an alternate reality created by Shinji. It is not a remake. It even says it isn't a remake in one of the titles.

Torrenting anime is a little bit harder to get into than just loading up a website and watching it, was his point.
There's a lot more waiting involved, and some extra clicks and stuff.

Streaming anime in steps
1. google or go straight to fave stream site
2. search for anime
3. pick episode
4. buffering (every time)
5. watch flv file

Torrenting
1. google or go straight to fave torrent site
2. search for anime
3. download torrent
4. download files in client (one time)
5. watch lossless or lossy file

No one ♥♥♥♥ cares about your angst man, so go ahead and vent it somewhere else.

Anyway.

I binged through attack on titan this past weekend. Is the anime any good?

Attack on Titan. The anime is pretty good. Faithful to the manga, I personally LOVE the animation style, very energetic and captures the Titan-fitan well. It's pretty dang good. If you get bored of seeing what you've already read, then it might not be for you. Otherwise, totally give it a watch.

Torrenting
You forgot download torrenting client, download several hundred megabyte episodes, several gigs for a season, make sure your computer can actually run a huge high-def video without stuttering, and for god's sake he's trying to START watching anime, not dive in and go full /a/ on it.
