What the title says!

Well, not exactly. I'm not one for rigid adherence to authority. More, I was wondering what people in the (off-topic) forums have been reading lately? Or any recommendations they have? Personally I'm into books that get you thinking, if anyone has any suggestions along those lines [books I've really enjoyed include House of Leaves, Slaughterhouse-Five, The Brothers Karamazov/Crime & Punishment, Brian Greene-type ♥♥♥♥, The Metamorphosis/The Stranger].

Right now I'm plowing through A Scanner Darkly at about a mile a minute, and it's tactfully trippy as anticipated. First PKD novel, and I'm enjoying it so far.

I read The Martian a while ago. I don't read books too much anymore.

Recently I'm reading the book called Thing Explainer which is written by Randall Munroe.
It's an interesting book because of it's special rule which is that it only uses "The ten hundred words people us the most" and thousand is not amongst them so he couldn't use it to state the rule.
The book I read before it was "What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions" also written by Randall Munroe and the title pretty much speaks for itself.

For those not aware, Randall Munroe is the author of XKCD.

I highly recommend Blindsight (and Echopraxia (the sequel)) for some good smart sci-fi.

and Accelerando for people who need sci-fi that will take them completely off the deep end...

I enjoyed the Quadrail series. Sci-fi train murder mystery novel series. Martian was also good.
