Post Slow frame/game rate.
I have the free version of CC and a few mods, and I've noticed it plays ungodly slow in comparison with the youtube vid's and GIF's I've seen of others playing the game.

My comp has a very modest 512mb's of RAM;
I was wondering if this was the cause for the slow gameplay or something else?

I make sure that it's the only app running and everything, it's just slow as hell.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

RAM is a major determination of performance while playing, and some people have also had issues with the newest build. However, with only 512 mb RAM, even playing an older build wouldn't get you a huge performance gain.

I see, thank you.
I'm getting my MacBook back from storage soon and it has 1gig of RAM, so it'll probably play much better, yes?

Twice the capacity, twice the performance.
Although computers always find a way to screw up gaming.

turn up your delta time (in base.rte/settings.ini) slowly until you get an okay balance between crap sim and decent performance. itll help, but make it more choppy.
also turn off postpixelglow.
god i had to fiddle with mine and ive got 1.5GB of ram, but my system is dying so it could be that XD
just out of interest, for those who know (i want to learn ohkay, humour me :P) what would help performance other than ram? what other factors would come into it?
specs: P4 3.0GHz | 1.5GB RAM | 128MB Geforce 5200 FX (is about to die, and good riddance) | some age old asus mb. ;-;
as i said, its old and dying, whats a baseline for people who dont get lag when something gibs? XD

Dear Lord,
Thank you so much!

The delta trick worked amazingly.
I'm sure it'll still run even better once I get the Mac back though.

The gifs are usually sped up to make 'em look more fluid. I know I do that and I suspect other people do too

No, it's just that CC apparently places priority on recording over rendering frames. Usually when you hold printscreen to record, your FPS drops to about 5 or 10. But, when you put the gif together, the FPS appears to hang around 25-30.

For example, this took about 20 minutes to record:

If the gif doesn't work than the photobucket server exploded under the stress.

GIF....making.....computer......viberate. AGHhhhhhhhh.

Anyway, I have 1GB of RAM and CC plays fine with 5 or 6 mods. :)

Of course it would be better with more RAM.

RAM helps loading times too. :-o
