three cheers for venn!
try playing with a deltatime of .001, CC seems so beautiful like that.. it does break anything relying on airresistance a little though, or just seems to increase the drag. looks like the drag is applied per frame, not per second. inconsistency woo!!

This is bit off topic but it's wierd that CC lags at huge slposions on my computer but Crysis not..
(3.16 ghz dual core intel e8600, 4 g ram, nvidia 9800gt)
Awensome game to test your computers capabilities.

not really, 3d games rely a lot more on you GPU, while CC doesnt even care if you dont have one. so basically it'll punch your CPU silly while your beast of a GPU who is used to doing all the work stands by looking for something to do.
newer processors (not just dual cores, but whatever) like CC a lot more, no matter how fast their clocks run (though faster is obviously better). an old dual core model is of course going to lag with CC, and your computer's ability to have sex with crysis is irrelevant due to what CC relies on.

I set my resolution to something tiny (600x300) and blow it up 2X. Looks chunky but plays good on my Q6600. (It seems to actually use all 4 cores, although I don't know if that is helping any)

I've got 4gbs of RAM, vista uses a lot of it but I still have around 1.5gbs left before playing. I also have a AMD dual core running at 3.21ghz and I STILL get lag occasionally. The weird thing is though, it's not just with crazy ass terrain raping implosions. Sometimes just blowing up a dropship can cause lag. Anyone have a guess as to what is causing this? I've yet to monitor my RAM and CPU usage while playing though, so I'll have to try that.

uh, as vista would never use 2.5GBs of RAM, you must be running something else with CC. bad idea.

Probably should have clarified, only about 1gb of that was Vista and it's various processes, besides Firefox, I can't honestly say what could be causing so much RAM use. Also, my memory usage stats for each proram doesn't seem to add up. All virus scans are clean from both Malware Bytes and Avast,

Er, how do you convince CC to multithread o.o I have a dual 1.8 but I only ever see one process in the task manager.

winner.
CC is currently [apparently] being optimised for dual cores and the like. hooray.

Well, there's your problem.
Avast false-negative/false-positives pretty much everything, and I've never even HEARD of the other thing.

Uh...
Since the E8600 is 3.33GHz per core, no, it's not.
The one I mentioned earlier was, if that's what you're talking about, but nobody else was talking of the E8600 that I can see.

and both of them lagged. i wonder what factors CC likes and what it doesnt..
and why it runs so bloody well on a 1.0GHz Celeron, or almost any old athlon x2
