Post subject:  Looking for someone to sprite a robot PART 2 (art inside)

Alright, scratch everything that was in this topic, don't bother reading the first five or so posts because this thread used to be something else. "Contrary" did a lot of work on some sprites but they really aren't exactly what I wanted. Thank you for the work contrary, but I need someone who can stick with it. Contrary gave me some sprites but I wanted a lot more detail and I wanted them to be bigger, but he didn't want to work on it anymore. I've been doing a lot of work to improve the sprites, but really I am just making things worse.

Blah blah long story short I'm back to square one with these sprites.

So, what I need is someone who can sprite a giant coalition style robot for me because I'm no artist. Anyone interested please PM me. Me and a few others have already put a lot of work into this project, so it can't die here.

At the bottom is the concept art "The Decaying Soldat" did for me, and the sprites Contrary did.

1. Take limb sections.
2. Google RotSprite.
3. Rotate limb sections to desired limb-bend configurations.
4. Great success!

That's what I said, like 20 times. I sprited it with that in mind.

Edit: That's an old version, too.

Yeah, I am actually doing quite well with the program Grif recommended.

Contrary, you told me to use game maker and that was harder :[

I never knew you did any of the weapon sprites, cool.

Well I forbid you to use the piece of crap double barreled piece of ♥♥♥♥ but the flamer would be ok with a nice recolour. The main change from the one in the OP to the one in my post is the hands.

i love it when people dont realise that hands are separate sprites to arms.
other than that it's not too ugly, only kinda ugly.

Well I knew that, I'm separating the two, I just haven't gotten to it yet.

And I don't think it's ugly, contrary did good work. What is ugly about it?

Honestly, I don't know how to quantify or categorize its ugliness.

Alright, I've changed the topic. Read the new OP. At this point the discussion starts for the edited topic.

oh god its like Luigi and the snowman had a kid and it was made of metal.

how would you have a giant coalition? clones with giantism, or giant robots. if its a giant robot, why is it wearing a helmet and armor and a mask. it IS metal.

The main problem I can see is the black outlines. Replace the black with a darker version of the colour next to it (if you're really lazy) and show it to us.

And that is exactly why Foogooman now requests a spriter.(The sprites are no where near finished anyway, maybe this isn't clearly stated)

If it is the whole design that you're against, well, then this is not the giant coalition robot for you.

If they were going for practicality then why are they doing a ridiculously inefficient humanoid mecha of that size in the first place?
Oh wait, it's not going for practicality, there's a helmet and mask because it's just a larger version of the Coalition infantry made of metal and it's there because it has an aesthetic to it.
Next you'll be asking why gundam have forehead crests and sometimes even gas masks. -_-"

Why? BECAUSE THEY'RE FRICKIN GUNDAMS.
This looks a lot more credible with the concept art, that thing looks pretty awesome.

Well I liked DS's concept art enough to try to sprite it.

I am an extremely noobie sprite, maybe in my first two dozen sheets. I would really appreciate constructive criticism rather than "yo this is ugly and the design is bad" which is also rather insulting to DS who is already, clearly, very talented.
