Sorry bro - it's still a generic space marine.

And you know, that's fine, really. Space marines are pretty neato if you're into the sorta thing. Absolutely - go for it! It's OK to be conventional sometimes; just don't try to say you're otherwise or else it's flame time.

Perhaps more importantly, you should realize that by virtue of the fact that your request is so typical and has indeed been fulfilled many many times over, the chance of someone actually creating a mod based off your very concept art is very slim. Spriting can be super-fun though, so don't knock it 'til you try it!

Dude, that's even more Spahees Mahreen-y than the first one. Including the exaggerated height and the new flamethrower, along with the guardsman running for cover behind his leg.

Actually thats a coalition light sldier being crushed to death.

And in any case, I needed a bulky, heavily armored unit who can soak up damage and last for 20 minutes against an onslaught of enemies. I'm not trying to say he isn't like a hundred other space marine-esqu mods out there, but none of them fit the specifications I really need.

And I have tried spriting, I just happen to be ungodly bad at it :S

In THAT case, I reccomend DSTech and the Tek Troopers. The Tek Anihilator especially.

I made a midget in powerarmor. It's essentially a resprite of the green clone so it's not really worthy of release.

It's fairly strong considering it was once the useless meatbag of a green clone.

It's kinda a WIP since i never bothered to make a jetpack or address the delimbing problem.

Pic is the clone.

Ok thanks people, those who made sprites and those who posted helpful posts, I will look into the TekTroopers especially, I think I saw my friend had that mod, sort of silvery grey units? looked cool, i'll search em later.

As I'm here, I would like to make a slightly different request. I would like to make a mod myself, but 1) still getting the hang of spriting, and 2) I am really struggling with the coding.

So if someone could make a really simple actor for me, like the original one I requested, no detail. Just a large actor (1.5x the size of a coalition light maybe?), quite bulky and quite strong, I can try and edit over the sprites. One of the biggest problems I've had is getting the parts in proportion and the basic offsets etc (I'm looking and tutorials and the wiki, i'm just a slow learner I guess)

Any help appreciated :)

Don't do it, cool kids do pixel-by-pixel spriting!

Professional grown ups do it this way. It's faster, easier, and looks better - take your pick!

Meh, I don't think that using that method looks better, it just looks different. A well done pixel-by-pixel sprite will look better, but it's harder to do.

Of course "better spriting" is subjective, but if we were shooting for what might be most universally considered as "good" in the spriting world, we'd probably look towards professionally done sprites. Pretty sure just about every game that has pixel-visible art in it does this, Prom included. Of course it's good to touch up afterwards by hand, but there's no way you can describe large objects in only a handful of pixels (this is the goal in spriting, as I see it), using subtle shading and strange colors, as well as a computer can.
