Post Program?
Hey guys, wow I havn't been on this forum in ever. So yeah, I'm going to re-try some scene making. I already tried to make a few things using various programs such as paint, but you can't get smooth lines and theres an awful zoom. Then I tried using what other programs I had. ( Flash 8 ) It worked good, I could make smooth lines and zoom in a good way, but whenever I exported the BMP it would be some random shade of brown or pink >.>". I eventualy got it to export my first test with no really odd colours but I had DEFAULT plastered all over the map where the ground shold have been. (I had fun lagging the game with that for a bit)
So what I'm looking for is another painting program. Can anyone reccomend something? I'll take nearly anything at this point. Thanks in advance. :D

EDIT: Picturez of teh map.

Note: Its not finished thats just some of the underground blending(ish) done also, its not going to be that tall in the end...

Uhh maybe that is because the bitmap depth you selected did not support those colors?

I fixed that in the end, but still whenever I try and use it it is plastered with DEFAULT. Also, the largest size I can make a map with Flash 8 is 2880 x 2880. Which sucks :P Any recomendations anyone?

Sounds like the problem you have is the palette. It's not enough to just make it a .bmp, sometimes programs secretly blend colors and stuff, so what you have to do is take something like PromGrounds.rte/Scenes/PromGrounds.bmp and paste your image into that, and then save it. It should force all the colors into the right palette, and you'll be good to go.

Thanks Tim, but I still think I need something better then Flash for editing photos. (Flash is ment for animation not making graphics)

EDIT: Well yeah, I DL'd Photoshop 3 trial to test it, got a little further, (Completely restarted it pretty much) but for somereason I can't export or save as a BMP >.<"""
That a big piss off.

No. Only .bmp. But you should be able to convert them easily...

Kay, thanks.
EDIT: BLAH, I tried the paste from thing and I got an error :
Code:
C:\documents and settings\ect..
Paint cannot read this file.
This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported

I tried to add a .png over promgrounds.bmp .png is the only actual photo type I can export as and earlier you said to paste over promgrounds.bmp or something to fix the blending.

You have to save. Don't Save As. It's a special kind of .bmp, and saving it as a regular 256 color .bmp will break it.

You could also give me the image, and I'll fix it for you.

I ment I saved it in Photoshop as a .png and now paint can't load it, but windows viewer can, here see if you can load it in paint.
Noe: Its still not done, I just badly want to test it.
