Post Mappack III in the works
<removed now useless poll results>

I am recycling this post to avoid opening another topic and to mention that everyone is thoroughly invited to share ideas and other stuff in this thread so that we can make these bunch of maps as good as they can be.
I don't necessarily consider this a solo project although I will do the actual mapdrawing and placing of objects inside the maps, since I am a bit peculiar about those things.

Ideas about what you could contribute or what I could use some help with:
- Seamless backgrounds for several maps, especially two in a hell-like setting. (At the very least 640x480 in size, 800x600 or higher would be great.)
- Sprited objects; think of furniture, statues. Anything that fits in the CC world.
- Bunker placement. If you think you have a suberb idea about a bunker layout, draw it out in black and white (or in colour if you wish), and I'll recreate it if it's any good.
- Other ideas are very welcome too.

I've gotten permissions to use some people's stuff already, and some are (hopefully) working on making new stuff. You are thanked an awful lot. :)

All contributors will be properly credited and hopefully we'll have an amazing set of maps to play on when stuff's finally done.
Keep in mind: I can't promise I will use everything. I have to keep some kind of level of quality, so don't expect a halfbaked brainspasm to be welcomed with open arms. :wink:

Some old pictures; Will occasionally be replaced with new teasers as work progresses;
August 25th;
Keep in mind that I've got permission to use the non-mine objects you see in the screenies below.
Remake of a favourite of mine; Suburbs;

Another remake of a favourite of mine; Tenements;

A massive map; Towers; An awful lot of place to crawl around in.

Valley; map with a huge ship hanging above the ground. Ship and tower layout are made by numgun and he did a heck of a job;

Post Re: Poll: What resolution do you use to play CC?
You should make separate downloads for each resolution.
Anyways, I guarentee you that like 70-95% of CC players play with the regular resolution.

I run 1024x768 or switch up to 16x12k when I'm feeling masochistic. :x But please, don't worry about backgrounds for us radicals, we can upscale ourselves :yarr:

I won't. :) If about half of the people out there were using a specific resolution I would have accomodated them, but I don't want to spend my limited time to make something that only a few people will benefit from.

640x480 it is. :) Thanks for voting, peeps.

The default is the best because of the limited vision it makes the game seem more fun and tense when you cant see too far.

Work's progressing, albeit slowly.
I am very thankful for the several people who are helping me out here and there.

What I could still really use though are two seamless hell-like backgrounds and two seamless earth (grass or mountains etc) backgrounds.
Unfortunately a mirrored picture won't do.
Perhaps people have some stuff lying around somewhere. :???: I'd be eternally grateful.

I will also be stretching up the backgrounds to support 800x600, due to build 21 having an ingame option for it. 1024x768 or higher will remain unsupported for multiple reasons.

Teaser;
Some new screenshots of maps that are about done, except for fancy area/lua stuff.

Gotcha, you are the king of scenes and large mod packs.
Got anything planned with Lua?

Post Re: Mappack III in the works
Well, I am hoping to make some mission based maps with the help from others. At the moment I haven't really looked into this lua stuff yet, since it'll take me weeks to finish up all the maps anyway. :)
I am forcing myself to finish those first. Nooo diztraczions.

Time will tell!

I am a big fan of all those scenery objects, keep it up!

PS: The way CC handles Lua areas is really easy to get in to. You can look at Maginot's Lua file for a template, and just copy over the lines you want.

Once I am done adding objects I'll let you have them. :)

Meanwhile, need seamless backgrounds! *looks around, beggingly*

What kind of backgrounds? Urban? Volcanic? Mountainous? Give me an idea of what you're looking for and I'll keep an eye out.
