Is there a mapping tutorial for builds 20/21/22? I really would like to make my own contours, but I seem to not to find a good general tutorial

Most of the tutorials are still relevant. Look to lord tim's old ones. They still work I think.
Also, just looking through some of the custom maps should help you figure things out.

You don't use "contours" like you did in the old builds. It's just a regular .bmp file now. With the colors set to correspond to the material indexes in the material palette and materials.ini files.

Two things:
1. You should probably look at Lord Tim's tutorials or use azukki's templates.
2. You should take a look at other contours and try to put that underground part in that slightly darker shade of purple. It will make it look like a cave.
That is all.

If you just want to get it in game, then copy the grasslands.ini file in base.ini and replace all the grasslands stuff with hugeland. Make sure whenever it calls for a file you have the correct path. Then go into scenes.ini and scroll to the very bottom. There is a list of stuff that is to be added, copy one and change it to hugelands.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
// Hugeland Scene

AddScene = Scene
InstanceName = Hugeland
LocationOnPlanet = Vector
X = 0
Y = 0

// Terrain SceneLayer
Terrain = SLTerrain
InstanceName = Hugeland Terrain
BitmapFile = ContentFile
Path = Base.rte/Scenes/Hugeland.bmp
WrapX = 1
WrapY = 0
ScrollRatio = Vector
X = 1.0
Y = -1.0
BackgroundTexture = ContentFile
Path = Base.rte/Scenes/Textures/DirtDark.bmp
