I think this is epic enough to merit it's own topic. If not, mods please merge to link dump (or wherever it goes).

So. Procedural, destructible, fully inhabited, 3D cityscape.
Discuss.

EDIT: Oh, and afaik, no public beta. The website they have in the video description has an email though, perhaps you can request private beta.

Mighty freakin' awesome. The closed door syndrome was my worst nightmare in city-like games. The walls do break in a weird way, though, and floors and ceilings were not destructible, but, aside from that, it is more than epic. A game with this engine would be an instant success,

I bet that's more laziness on the part of the designers of the modular sections that I assume are stuck together to make buildings, but I have no idea.

More likely they haven't implemented that yet, and have only so far been able to make the walls smashable. I imagine that making a surface you stand on destructable would require more voodoo magic than we would think.

More like they don't want to put up with the entire building falling down. Seems the most logical reason. Are the outer walls destructible? I never saw them looking out from the inside of a building.

They could use the pixelux physics engine.

Or that.

First saw this on Facepunch.com. Think of the possibilities this technology can create?
