Post Re: Metal Gear Solid: Rising
I'm seeing slims for under $250, which sounds pretty darn scam-like but that's what Google says.

I wonder if this game's even kinect/Move compatible or whether it's better just to use a controller. If you have to rotate that blue plane (predicting where you slice) on an axis that wouls be absolute crap. Games like Skate got me used to flicking the joystick to make the move I wanted. For example, going into targeting mode frees up the view joystick allowing you to bring the joystick one direction to prepare a slice, then either bringing it to the opposite side or adjacent side allows you to make any angular cut you want.

Controllers are better, not liking the whole wand thing.

15, eh?
You'll fit in just fine. :D

NFS stopped being good after Hot Pursuit 2 IMO, though I have high hopes for the new Hot Pursuit coming out.
Haven't played XIII yet, so I can't really say.

Tsunami, the reason for the graphics over gameplay idea is that other countries (And sometimes companies in America do it as well (like microsoft)) are trying to appeal to the stereotypical American Gamer.

Stereotypical American Gamer (IMO):
Loves good graphics
Loves open ended gaming
Loves shooters
Loves multiplayer
Dislikes cryptic games
Dislikes having to sit there, not playing, watching story cutscenes

(This is, at least in my opinion, what video game producers are trying to appeal to.)

American gamers (generally) have short attention spans, preferring constant exploding things and shooting to story and strategy. Case in point: The Last Remnant (I think) was a game from about a year back that had the player wait through half an hour of cutscene before the game starts. Then, battle was an explosion of meters, menus and incomprehensible systems that scared the hell out of most Americans.
So they went off to chug Mountain Dew and play Modern Warfare.

I like to view myself as one of the minority who likes graphics, but prefers a good game.

Pretty much.

I liked Last Remnant...

I guess that makes me a 'normal gamer'.

It's an RPG. "J"RPG to be specific.

Yeah, I've heard of it. Arcade shooter.

This is getting off topic, this should be in another thread.

(Also, Tsunami, you need to work on your English. :P )

Age is no excuse. All you accomplish by saying that is reduce people's opinions of 15 year olds who manage not to sound like dumbasses (ie: MLC, Lizzard, me).

Contrary, I think you failed to see that he is also Czech. Unless you're Czech as well, in which case, whatever.

I'm Dutch and sixteen, how would this make a difference? People using their age or origin as an excuse just haven't thought them selfs, I have enough people in my class asking my about my near perfect accent(hate to brat) and the only answer I can give is watch movies and play games.

End of this derail that repeats itself every time some foreigner comes up here and uses his country of origin as an excuse.

Onto the actual game:
Wasn't MGS about stealth or am I completely missing the point here? I mean, the sword is stealthy but the various body parts dispersed along the floor must gather some attention.

Im 15 and American.... Pointless
Well, it was a stealth series.
But its rather obvious, that they still wanna make games about the story, and since Snake's story is done, Raiden's is an obvious choice.
It was a stealth series WHEN IT INVOLVED SNAKE, but now, since its about Raiden, they cant do the same thing, cause its not the same style. Raiden isnt about stealth, whining that they are ruining it is stupid.
Its a different game, under the same series name. Its not like its Snake running around with a whip and a fedora....

Yeah, that was my entire point from the beginning. This game is pretty much not MGS; it isn't stealthy at all, and MGS is stealth. So I was all, ♥♥♥♥!?

It could be like Cooking Mama, except with a creepy as hell child >_>
I just want her timer...
Just a question, did anyone else almost cry at the end of 4? Starting from where he is going through the microwave hallway to the cemetary, i felt like tearing up....
