It actually isn't really an ad-hominem attack to tell someone they don't know what they are talking about, because it is a statement that can be objectively proved.
If it is evidently false then it could be an ad-hominem attack, but in a case where it does look like someone is trying to argue a point he knows little about then it's a pretty valid thing to point out.

Back to me being offensive in my previous post, might have been, however I was not attacking you personally, I was telling you(in a rather rude way) that what you were saying is harder than you think. Thus the part about not knowing what you were talking about.

Also, there is nothing wrong with desura, it's a platform developed for indie devs and modders.

I personally loved the audio though, that's just me. Loved the soundtrack, and one of the better voice actors in macabre games I have been playing lately.
And I get what you mean about reviews.

And the Cryengine thing is less about me not being familiar with game development, and more about me being a melancholic idealist. A whiny one.

Considering that many flash diva Re wither very young or very inexperienced in the art of true game development, yes. This isn't to say flash games/programs can't be great or that all flash devs are 10 year old nubs, but it isn't nearly as hard as, say, CryEngine.

Apparantly I'm the only one here who actually looks his facts up.

Cryengine is free if you don't want to earn money.
Cryengine is free if you have a small indie company and want to earn money, however a part of the money you make will go to crytek.
Cryengine is really ♥♥♥♥ expensive in all other cases.

I never said anything about money, converting a whole game to a new engine is a huge pain in the ass for not actually a great deal of benefit and will introduce a colossal amount of bugs
Bugtesting is the most horrible activity known to man, and it gets worse the larger a game is

Changing engine is something you do when starting a new project, you absolutely do not take a whole, complete product, strip out the engine and insert a new one
You'll have to put in so much effort to make that work that you might as well have been making a new game anyway

I meant the budget that was used to create it, not the money needed for rights to use it.

Why not just use the Unreal engine?

It looks good, its cheap/free, and its not ridiculously hard to learn.

or use source becuse...
1. It started out as a source mod.
2. They already paid for it.
3. It's less than a month from release.
4. It already looks better thank some indie UDK games out there.
