If it's an enemy destroying your stuff it isn't griefing.
Ever. Because the destructability is there so they can.

My best game was when I assumed direct control of Delta Squad, snuck my way into the enemy base, and then proceeded to dig a large network of tunnels right underneath their noses. My squad then spawned on top of my location, causing mass yelling of "HAX U NOOB". After several rounds of this (without dying or being caught), I headed back to the main base.

I then started to destroy the stacks of blocks connecting the first of three bridges to the island our bridge was on, and eventually destroyed it, causing the base to only have two entrances. After that, everyone else decided to do what I did to the other two bridges, leaving us stranded on an island base with no ways out. I, being the creative lead of our team, decided we needed a giant 3x5 wall encompassing all sides of the base, due to a small sniper problem. Eventually this lead to us building a super tower that let us snipe the snipers.

After a fun thirty minutes, the enemy started to destroy the bottom of our glorious island. A team was sent (well, went on their own,) to destroy them, but ultimately failed. Our tower and island were lost. I got angry. I then went to their main base island and proceeded to do to them what was done to us. And succeeded. I was kicked.

Long story short, I am a master of espionage, construction, and revenge.

Sounds like an organized team.

99% of the time I get playing, everyone plays by themselves and there is 0 team work.

Yeah, it was a really organized team. Some of the people who joined later on into the game did their own thing, but mostly everyone who was at the start followed orders pretty well. The enemy team just rushed at our main base throughout the span of the match. Not very organized, but it worked at the start.

What I don't understand is, why don't the enemies shoot and destroy the barricades that you hide behind? It is an easy way to kill you / flush you out of cover. That's what I do, and it always works.

It depends a lot of the weapon you use, because if you use a shotgun, if you are too far you'll miss most of the hits and if you are close enough for your shots to be effective you'll be in danger, if you use a rifle you'd waste a lot of ammo, but if you have an SMG you should spray barricades.

And maybe it's just me, but I tend to find more guys with rifles playing.

Rifles are the best to use, IMO. They can hit from far away, do a bunch of damage, are really accurate, have a decent rate of fire, and can destroy blocks in two shots.

Shotguns, as you said, require you to be close to your target, which almost always leads to your death.

SMGs fire quickly, and (I guess) you are more likely to score a hit on something, but the low damage per shot, combined with the inaccuracy make it a weapon I'm not a fan of.

The reason that rifles are used the most is because they are the deady at any range, combined with the reasons I had above.

The only reason why I like a lot using the SMG is because it makes hitting moving targets a lot easier. Well, at least for me.

But there is nothing better than needing an average of 2 hits to kill anyone with the rifle.

As far as I'm concerned, shotguns are only ever useful on custom maps where there are lots of tightly backed buildings/small corridors. but even then, over time as the map is destroyed, rifles will prevail. SMGs are never a better alternative to the rifle or shotgun. never.

They're actually really great because they're only slightly less accurate than rifles and can still insta-kill on headshot oh and also they're full-auto.

Have you even played in a while because they got a major buff.

According to the wiki, it damages 75 on headshot, but I don't know if it is up to date. And even if it does damage that on headshots, scoring another hit anywhere will most likely kill anyone.
