that was so painfully generic that my eyes are bleeding.

Seems pretty mehh, not that I won't watch it, I can't not, it's Halo, as much as yes I would actually like to see the Spartans in focus
But alas, I do dislike the change in armour aesthetic, it's more inhuman and sleek than human Spartan armour should look like, I hated Master Chiefs new armour, but I don't think some of the multiplayer armours are as bad

The idea of mass produced Spartans like that is just contrary to all the previously established stuff too. Spartans are expensive, effective, and few, and by making it so anyone can be a Spartan they've pretty much ruined the specialness of it.
Yes, I know about the Spartan III's, too, but those were still a relatively small size and they're designed to be throwaway warriors anyway, it's entirely different from a Spartan II.

It'd be better to say a mass-produced spartan relatively on par with an S-II is contrary to fluff, especially since human-covenant war ended (though 343i has randomly decided that, that hasn't actually happened.)

But what's the idea of it? It's stupid.

They are changing Halo too much, just to continue the game, but it's like if they were creating a different one.

Yeah, they really should've just let it die.
Or at least let the whole Master Chief/Cortana/All That ♥♥♥♥ trilogy die. It was good, but it's over dammit. Zoom forward 200 years into the future, have Forerunners come back and fight humans, or go back in time to Forerunner times and fight the flood. Well, no, those wouldn't be very Halo either.
Just let it die.

On that you are right.

Like, as a last option, I would prefer a different game based on the Halo universe that was in the future or in the past, and have it as less related as possible to the Halo storyline.

You know.. When the Forerunner were around there was a Human-Forerunner war..
I would say yes let it die if Halo 3 didn't end on such a cliffhanger

SHHHH... I haven't read Cryptum (I assume that's what that's from) and I refuse to on a moral basis.

Haha yeah that's what it's from, Halopedia spoilers ftw
In the world of Halo books I finished Ghosts of Onyx a little while ago and am looking to acquire the sequel. Exciting

There's a sequel to Ghosts of Onyx? I thought it was last after Fall of Reach and First Strike.

I just got around to actually watching the trailer. The only actual Spartan I saw in it was Chief. The rest just looked like marines-in-training. Unless I missed something, it seems to stay in line with the plot.

A game with standard marines could be pretty cool, if done correctly. I mean, the halo universe is actually pretty diverse and expansive if you look at it with a broad perspective.

Harzipan, the explanation for multiplayer and now-canon is that they've developed a process to augment regular soldiers into Spartans, instead of little kids with lifelong training. Doesn't explain away how they got them all MJOLNIR armor though, considering a suit literally costs as much as a goddamn space vessel, and this is apparently newer generation armor which should be even MORE bloody expensive.

EDIT: Ok apparently the Spartan IV's have GEN2 MJOLNIR armor, which probably lacks the crazy liquid crystal metal layer that supports the AI and gives such a huge physical boost, also accounting for a good 80% of the cost of the suits.
So I'll excuse that. They stilled ruined the Spartans though.

Si, Halo Glasslands
I read an excerpt of it a while back and thought, well, this is awesome, better read every single book previously
