Here is my first mod, A skeleton merc mod pack. :grin:

Includes : Skeleton Merc
Merc Shield
Head Bomb
High Heat Sable Round chaingun

sorry for the fudge sprites , i suck at spriting.

EDIT: decreased Sables lifetime and sharpness by around half
increased Head Bombs explosivness
increased longness in Merc Shield and increased its gibimpulselimit
used Aspects new sprites for it, changed gibimpulse to much higher

edit: skeleton has too much health
and weapon too sharp

Or was it a typo for stable?

If your gun is shooting horse quarters I think it's going to be more of a psychological weapon than anything else.

Or, or, or, perhaps you watched Transformers, and thought you'd be a kool kid and market your weapon as shooting SUPER HIGH TECH ROBOT KILLING AMMUNITION.

In which case it's sabot.

Also, don't make mods that change an actor's health.

It's just stupid, especially since you probably didn't change the GibWoundLimit.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

The above post by Grif is an example of BLATANT FLAMING, which you should never do, because you'll end up getting reported.

As to the mod, it's good for a first attempt.
A few problems: The lifetime for the sable bullets is way too long, you end up getting hit in the back of the head with your own bullets.

The bullets also go way too deep into the terrain, so tweak variables like sharpness and velocity to fix that. Congrat on the sable shooting at a reasonable pace. Most newbies make their guns spray bullets.

The head bomb isn't much, just shoots a few bullets in every direction.

Good job on making the shield look three dimensional, but your spriting needs work. The sable needs to be shaded.

And lastly, a suggestion on the merc. Choose a darker green color, give the skeleton elbow pads and knee pads and possibly boots, and he'll look a lot better.

You realize I didn't really explicitly insult him, right?

Really, I wanted to clear up a misunderstanding.

Maybe his gun IS supposed to be shooting weasels; I don't know.

I like skeletons, but that green armor... I could play around with it a little if you like, maybe make it look less like a leprechaun, more like a demon from the fiery depths.

edit: ok, took a little time and made it something a little more skeleton knitey, a little more menacing, a little less cartoony, or at least I hope so. use it if you like, I think it looks pretty good.

Nice job on editing that sprite.

As for you, minim16, I think you did a good job on this, but you should definetly not change health values just to enhance the vitality of a unit. Keep it a hundred and chande the GibImpulse limit, next time. As for the HH Sable, even though the name is weird, it still looks cool. But the bullets are way too sharp. And as for that head grenade, it's basically just a frag grenade, with a bloodied bluee head (which I think you took from the bloodspewer). Be more creative next time. Or at least, make it shed blood.

For a first, it's very nice, though. Class job!

thnx, i had no idea what gibimpulse was, so i just left it alone.

and to grif,, it was supposed to be the one from transformers, but in a handheld type gun.

NEVAR POST YO FIRST MOD! That is often the first thing said by flamers. However, for a first mod, it seems much better than the trash that usually comes from a persons first mod. I admit this mod requires some work, but it isn't covered in gasoline either. good job :)

Second Edit: Much better! All of my concerns with the Skeleton Merc have been addressed. The minigun still feels a little too "sharp" (it only goes through HALF a mountain in one clip now), and IMO it ought to be slightly less accurate, but it is toned way down, and the higher price brings it more in line with the other weapons. The headbomb and shield, I (still)have no complaints about.

This is a first mod that I'd be proud of if I had the skill to do this kind of thing myself.
