There's a trap room a comin', don't worry. As for the crusher, while yes it's a good idea and would be fun, I've got so many ideas it's somewhat low on my priority. However, you are right in that it would be very similar to the Gauntlet. Also, your design is really a clever one, so why don't you give it a shot? Doors are pretty dang easy to mod, and their potential has been mostly overlooked until recently. If you want any help, I'm available too. My whole purpose in releasing these is to make people go 'huh, that's so obvious, why didn't I try it' and then to have them fiddle around with them to invent new stuff.

Take a look at how it was done. It was totally not at all supposed to look how it does, but I'm kinda pleased it ended up like that.
It always seemed to me as if the crusher had to be manually moved (it had lives above its head, didn't it?)
