Considering how many mods there are, that could add up pretty fast. It's not the size on disk that people are worried about. It's the download speed.

Perhaps you don't understand what a "download time" is. The amount of time something takes to download depends on how big the file is. A typical download speed isn't really going to do something that's like 200 MB in 3 minutes. Take the pack that has every B20 and B21 mod in it. That probably isn't going to download in a flash. More like 20 min to an hour.
Of course, it's much faster if you have a better connection style, such as FiOS.

Put them all in a torrent? That way you can pick and choose which parts you wish to download without worrying about downloading 10 or 15 separate files from some site.

Have you ever used a torrent. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think those typically take an incredibly LONG amount of time to unpack. That really doesn't help the case.

You've got no idea what you're talking about. utorrent allows you to select which parts of a torrent you wish to download (unless some jackass puts ALL of it into a .rar then into a torrent). Download speed fluxuates but is generally high unless people decide to limit their upload speeds by a huge amount.

What do you mean, "unpack" a torrent?

Have *you* ever used a torrent before?

Well, that's pretty much what I meant by:

And I thought that they took a while anyway. I used a torrent maybe a few times for those GBA roms. Thing took like three days to unpack kirby or something.
That answer's mrah's question.
