It's not dead it's just resting.

caekdaemon ("Captain" Ernest Tarleton) [2]:
"Ah yes, I remember now! We've got a job to do, and that job is searching for a missing ship. Talked to the owner of the biggest store in town, he said his latest shipment of stock from the Northern Empire hasn't arrived for a few days, and no news has come through about it from the company itself. So, we have to go find out what happened to the ship.
Dov! To the North!"

"Aye aye."

The tiny ship quickly steers north, heading to find this missing ship.

Character

Harzipan (Markus Bensy) [6]:
"Speaking of jobs, I still have that bounty list. After this... 'Cargo Run' we could try and nab a few of these hopeless ne'er-do-wells."
You adjust yourself so that your ass isn't falling asleep, and get hold on as the ship turns north.

Character

CaveCricket48 (Dov Enku) [5]:

"Aye aye."

With just a thought, the ship turns, swinging wide before heading north.
Time to actually DO SOMETHING!

Character

CrazyMLC (Red Arthur "Gangplank" Stormcloud) [2]:
You use your constitution of an ice giant and endurance of a sky whale to flop around drunkenly a bit.

Character

Game Events: The ship starts heading north, roughly following the path between the North Empire and Madosa.

Caek your text hurts my eyes on this background...

caekdaemon ("Captain" Ernest Tarleton) [9]:
You have Dov take the ship in an efficient search pattern, and you yourself are scanning the skies for anything. Markus is helping look too, not quite with the same ferocity as you, but every set of eyes helps.
Arthur isn't even hiding his lack of try, instead sampling his bottle of rum. Again.
Sadly, you find no ships in this chunk of sky.

Character

Harzipan (Markus Bensy) [6]:
You watch the sky with Ernest, looking for any missing ship.
Man, you really hope you find something, cause if it just got destroyed by a giant sky-dolphin or something, there'll be nothing to find and this will be a giant waste of time.

Character

CaveCricket48 (Dov Enku) [7]:
Following Enerest's instructions, you guide the ship slowly north, travelling in a wide, sweeping pattern that covers a lot of sky. This will probably be the best way to find the ship, assuming it was following the direct route between Madosa and the North Empire.
After half an hour, you've still not found anything aside from a cloud that looks like a funnily shaped fish. Being an engine is kinda boring.

Character

CrazyMLC (Red Arthur "Gangplank" Stormcloud) [4]:
Thoroughly determined to be of use, you get started on getting drunk again.

Character

Game Events: The ship weaves north across the sky, finding nothing yet. Thankfully, there's still plenty of sky to cover, so plenty of hope left.

Abandon all hope of ever finding anything, and keep searching.

Check the last known position of the ship before it went missing in the quest log.

I'm assuming here that my guy wrote this stuff down before leaving harbour.

Last known position was the North Empire docks. It left there, should have arrived in Madosa a few days later, and never did. You're currently more or less tracing the path it would logically take.

Ooh, nice rolls.

caekdaemon ("Captain" Ernest Tarleton) [6]:
The ship continues sweeping northward, and you still find nothing.
That is, until you near the end of the sweep.

Character

Harzipan (Markus Bensy) [1]:
Pff...
Ernest can search on his own. This is hopeless.
Nevermind the fact that you've barely been searching for an hour.

Character

CaveCricket48 (Dov Enku) [2]:
Continuing the ship's pattern, you sweep north, this time in a less tight spread. Luckily, it doesn't matter.

Character

CrazyMLC (Red Arthur "Gangplank" Stormcloud) [4]:
Too drunk to help, not drunk enough to pass out.
You're not really surprised that you're ex-captain.

Character

Game Events: The ship continues sweeping, and somehow the crew's efforts, or at least Ernest and Dov's, come to fruition. On the horizon, Ernest sees something slightly resolve from the haze of the sky, and immediately orders Dov to head towards it. Very quickly, it's determined that the object is a ship. A ship that shoots a bright red ball of crackling light high into the air. It's off to the side a ways, so it isn't hard to see how other ships could miss the ship entirely in their normal routes.
As the dinghy approaches the rather large and unarmed ship, several men on deck start shouting and waving their hands fervently.
"Hey! Over here, please help!"
"Ah ♥♥♥♥ look at em, it's just a dinghy."
"Yer a dinghy, it's help you numbnut!"

As the ship approaches, one figure on deck comes to the front of the sailors. Wearing a deep but vibrant green beret cap and rather expensive looking clothes, he waves vigorously at his saviors with both arms and great sweeping motions.
"Oh, thank the lord you've come! We've been stranded for almost a week and we're almost out of magic!"

"Good to see you're still alive out here, we've been sent to rescue you guys! It's a good thing we saw your flare, we might've sailed right past you."

"How's the ship? Is it repairable?"

Chat with the captain, try to get an idea of what happened.

"How many crewmen are aboard this vessel?"

Survey the current conditions on-board the ship. Condition of the crew, weaponry, supplies, etc.
