Anyway,
Gunpowder is a mixture of sulfur, charcoal, and potassium nitrate, otherwise known as saltpetre.

I meant your characters job, if he made the parts for the time machine, he might have been a engineer or machinist.

@Raven : Im guessing from the title you will go to other ages, like the Triassic or maybe WW2?

Gulliver from Gulliver's Travels also teaches the big people to make guns, since they were in a state of less developed technology.
Also, a quick question: Can my lab coat be made of spider silk? Because that would be cool.
It's going to be fun to fight dinosaurs.
