The two of you head into the movie theater, find some seats, and wait for the show to start!

The two of you leave the movie, now finished.

There was no gore, and no jump scares. Just a dozen or so actors, a school setting, and a friendly-looking carnival bear suit.

And yet, it was still pretty terrifying. Shadows at the edges of a corner, ambient cues, false signals, victims that were clever but still succumbed to the killer. Fear of the unknown, paranoia, adrenaline of the escape.

Bezel: "I was not expecting it to be that scary."

It is indeed not night yet, but it looks a bit late in the day.

Bezel: "Heh. Got any other plans today?"

Bezel: "I'm up for a stroll."

You nod, and the two of you walk towards the park. The warm, late-day sun, the gentle breeze, the flocks of pigeons. Wordlessly, Bezel stops by a bench and sits, and you sit beside her.

Bezel: "This is nice."

"Yup, it really is."

>Yawn, stretch, place my arm on the back of the bench next to her shoulder, but without actually touching it. Gauge how bothered she looks. If excessively so, casually retract arm before continuing to talk.

"I wonder how things will be up North. Out beyond the reach of the railways. They say it gets hotter the closer you get to the equator, right?

Hopefully there'll be more afternoons like this."

You see her smiling.

Bezel: "Same. We should do it more often."

Bezel: "Hopefully we won't have to go near the Lindow."

The Lindow Swamp, a massive swamp in the northern end of the continent. Home of dangerous core beasts and unknown tribes. A popular hunting grounds for the Daeli, with plenty of tales of creatures being bred to monstrous forms and released for the sake of the game.

Bezel: "I wonder if I just jinxed us."

We were already bound to go there, it's the most dangerous thing in the area after all. Fate has to one-up manticores and queen core-diving somehow."

Bezel: "Guess I should prepare some expedition wetsuits. Maybe I'll make a suit of armor specialized for each expedition."

"Oh, that could be nice.

Heh. You know, with how HM doesn't degrade or rot away, those armor suits you make could very well outlast us all.

One day, an archaeologist from the future might find it and marvel at the skills of ancient constructors."

Bezel: "Too bad none of my creations have a maker's mark. Could start putting one on my original stuff.

Unless if someone analyzed the HM and found that it matched..."

"Hm. That, could be a problem.

Maybe put it only on the more important, one-of-a-kind things? Not the ones you mass produce.

Whoever you were, or decide to be in the future - well, I'd hate to see Bezel be forgotten."
