Flopping into bed, you feel quite relaxed after the bath. It's rather late, though there are still a few people up and about, from what you can tell from your window.

Time to sleep, you guess?

Matilda: "And here's a list of everything."

You take the roll of paper, giving it a quick skim - pelts and extracts, and various dried meats, plants, and fungus.

Looking at the assembled items sitting on the ground in front of you, there are quite a lot - dozens of lidded baskets, sealed clay pots, and bags, all containing materials only found in the Lindow.

Priestess Dion: "Since you're going to be going deeper into the Lindow, you should have this as well."

She hands you a bag, along with a pair of dark grey lanterns - no, thuribles?

Priestess Dion: "Throughout the Lindow, there are unnatural banks of mist that roam about. No one has ever gone into one and returned, and those who have avoided them report that they were being followed by the mist.

In the bag are special AM incense coils - it was one of our mage's attempts at recreating the explosive AM that the rifle cartridges have. While she was not successful, she found out how to create AM that slowly rots in a fashion that resembles a fuse, spreading a mass of corruption-emitting AM smoke in a large area.

It was discovered that the smoke repels the mist, and people who bring these lanterns with them have much greater changes of returning.

There's a tool on each lantern that can 'ignite' the incense, as well as trim off the ends if you need to put them out."

"Oh, thank you. That's extremely good to know ahead of time.
We'll be heading back to Silo first, I think, but after that it's... pretty likely we'll have to deal with the Lindow at least tangentially.
Do you have any other survival advice for it?"

Priestess Dion: "The edge of the Lindow has several lawless villages - they are filled with barbarians who attack travelers, many of them also posses magic or firearms.

Don't touch the colorful frogs - they're poisonous and will kill you.

Avoid flying directly over the Lindow, if you can help it. Emerald dragons are very territorial, and will chase down intruders well after they've left.

Don't swim or wade in water, use a boat if you must travel through water, or stay inside Ingret. Gators and snakes are dangerous even if they're not core beasts.

Never stray far from each other - mimics will take that opportunity to prey on one of you.

If you feel overwhelmed with joy, light the incense in the thurible. Bliss drakes normally leave people alone, but some have actively hunted us. When they think their telepathy is not working, they will flee.

If you hear bells, run. No one knows what makes the noise, but those who flee, survive. Those who don't, never return."

Mmmmakes sense. We might want to approach Maazo from the coast, then."

Priestess Dion: "A good strategy. Once you reach West Maazo, tell them that I sent you, and that you are looking for those who were involved in the spirit experiments. They will be able to help you."

"I see.

Thank you very much for your help, Priestess Dion. You have done much more than mere wanderers such as ourselves could ask for. May fortune smile upon Raena, both the town and the saint himself."

The Priestess bows her head.

Priestess Dion: "We are honored by your words. Safe travels, and good luck with your search."

Standing at a distance from the village, you wait while the Shaman reads the paper listing the contents of the trade and the other lupus load the containers on the wagon.

Shaman: "You have completed the task. We will uphold our end of the deal, and share with you what we know.

I am Ersien, the Caller of Shadows. I welcome you to the domain of Silo."

So, about what we were originally looking for, the spirit specialist."
