Bezel: "I don't mind the work, would be nicer if it was slower paced though."

Bezel: "Not right now, need to get my goons doing something useful."

She slouches a bit down into her seat, taking a few more sips of coffee.

Bezel: "Mm."

She sluggishly gets to her feet and leaves your office.

~

Inside Ingret's core, you walk down the street and into the next building, quickly looking around for anything resembling an interface or input system, then leaving and heading into the next one.

Claire is looking around the core as well, with Pillow accompanying her.

It's been maybe two hours of just looking around the central area of Ingret's core. The central region, while containing her "brain", infant cores, and mysterious magic machinery, doesn't appear to have any sort of control interface, so you and Claire have been slowly working your way outwards, searching the buildings along the way. So far, all buildings have plumbing, power, and other modern comforts, but no interface-things.

A brief check of your current building, you head out the door and see Claire walking along the sidewalk, already done with her loop around the area.

She walks over to you, using her cane mostly for nudging herself into balance, with Pillow hopping alongside her.

Claire: "Find anything yet?"

"Nothing.
I feel like we're going about this wrong. All of these buildings are just, normal buildings. They're rigged up like real buildings, but there's nothing... special about them.
If Ingret's subconscious core-building system takes cues from her surroundings, and made all this... we should be looking for something important. A place or building or feature that matches the importance of a manual control box."

Claire: "All those were in the center though, and we didn't see anything like that. Maybe we missed it?

Are there things underground?"

One of the manhole covers on the street pops up, with an intercom speaker peeking out -

Ingret: "Only pipes and valves down here."

Claire: "What if the information is received as a signal?"

Like a queen's signal, the one that keeps witchlings from deviating?"

Claire: "Yes. Maybe it's not a control input, but an identification signal?"

"Huh... but what use would they have for writing down an identification code like that? Wouldn't each witch, or, shelter have a unique code? Ergh, we don't actually know if this document was in wide circulation though, or if the code page was standard or individually printed... too many unknowns.
Hm. Bezel's right, I need to ask Opera. At this point there's too many possibilities to pull anything meaningful from the code page."
