”Okay.

I’m thinking of, Observing into the tower a bit. Check if there’s any large libraries or archives on the upper levels. Maybe check Kamilla’s quarters, I feel she’d keep some rare items in there.”

Bezel: "Mm, seems like it'd be pretty easy to scout out any places of interest. Do you need to lie down for that sort of range?"

Lying down would help, just so you don't accidentally fall over and hit your head or something.

Back in your room, you lie down and close your eyes, bringing out Observer.

Hopping through the city, block-to-block, you navigate towards the Pillar and head in. You're forced to limit the scope of what you see to not overload your senses, but from the little snippets that come through, the structure is astoundingly massive in width, and each individual level is far taller than most buildings in the city.

The first level is the massive church, as expected, and the level above is a massive garden, almost more of a self-contained biome. Courts above that, and various offices in the next level, and then several more biome levels of different lands and seasons.

When you try to reach the 13th level, you encounter a fuzzy barrier that blocks Observer, similar to the ones you've found in witch cores.

Interesting.

Moving to the sides of the Pillar, you find that the barrier is right inside the walls as well, extending all the way to the top of the structure and covering the ceiling.

The entire Pillar looks to be 20 levels, with the 13th and above inaccessible with Observer.

Going back to the 12th, you look around some more.

Multiple massive support columns around the level have staircases and elevators on the exteriors that go up to a transition room between the 12th and 13th levels. The rooms in the lower levels show that one half of the transition room is connected to the stairs and elevators, and the other half is the entrance to the upper level, with an opened and discrete gateway between the halves of the room.

The transition rooms between the 12th and 13th have the gate closed, where the barrier is also active.

Looking at the other levels, you can see what appears to be construct machinery within the walls and between the floors of the Pillar, which probably what are generating the barriers.

Moving to the roof, it looks like it's a large stepped cylindrical pyramid, with greenery growing on each layer, as well as plentiful walkways and resting areas with benches. There are doors, but they're insulated with barriers as well, and look quite sturdy, probably HM.

In the unshielded levels with gardens, many of the sides were open to the outside. In the shielded levels, these are all blocked by black opaque windows that resemble obsidian.

You watch the doors to the shielded areas, waiting for several minutes to see how someone would cross.

Maybe half an hour has passed, and not a single person has passed through. A quick look around the 12th and 11th levels shows that they don't even seem to be inhabited, at least from two minutes of searching with Observer.

You check the machinery for anything that looks like ducts or pipes leading up to the sealed area.

There are indeed pipes and ducts, but they seem to have filtering on both sides of the barrier between the levels, and pass through the barrier itself.

Returning back to your body, you walk over to Bezel's room where you find her lying in bed reading.

Bezel: "How'd the search go?"

"As expected.
To no one's surprise, the Pillar is sealed up tight. Has some spatial barrier around the important floors, can't get through it."
