You sit down, and Enrique cups his hands as if holding a large sphere. Enrique: "You've learned a spell before, yes~?" You reply affirmative, and he nods. Enrique: "Good, good. Now. Watch, and learn." ~~~~~ Something clicks. You pull your hands away from Enrique's spell, and summon up your spellcasting senses. There's another new bump, next to the heal and the ice spell. A familiar nudge against the new spell, and it bubbles up, actions and reactions flowing through the arm of your soul, taking shape but still laying dormant. It feels like... it's waiting for something, different than a finished but un-charged spell. It has, a slot? Two actually. You think back to the shield Enrique showed you, and suddenly the idea pops into the slots. It now feels more familiar, like an unpowered spell. Teasing mana into it, it happens. Before your raised hand, a small oval of barely distorted air flickers into place. Perfectly clear, though ever so slightly distorted as if looking through a pane of cheap glass. Enrique leans forward and taps his finger against the distortion, and it quietly bounces off. The magic shopkeep smiles warmly at you. Enrique: "Congratulations, you've acquired the shield spell! And so quickly as well~! In but a mere half hour, my my, you're a swift learner! It normally takes at least twice as long for that spell to imprint upon a young mage~." Leon: "Oh, it's done?" Leon and Karina look over from the other side of the room, leaning side by side against a wall, each holding a book. |

You pull the mana back out of the shield and it vanishes, then you walk over to the others and form it again, holding it out for them to examine. Leon looks it over from various angles, while Karina presses her open hand against it. Hm, you can feel the mana drain, but no actual force against your hand. Leon: "How big can it go?" Enrique: "There is no inbuilt limit on size in the spell, but the most you can sustain depends on the caster's reach with their spellcasting~. I myself could probably stretch it big enough to cover my entire building, of course the mana it would take to defend that entire area would bankrupt me in a moment~! |
